Give it to me Raw

Hi,

I know a lot of people are into this book. But I just don't get it! So I am seeing my pain, I am feeling my pain, and my pain is still there. I don't get it, Eckhart says to get inside my pain, well I am inside it, I have been inside it for like the last minute and it's still there, which then causes more frutration because it won't leave.

Just observing how I feel, isn't helping...

Am I doing this wrong? I don't get it! I feel really stressed now, more stressed than I have been in ages, and I have stayed present like loads today and last night =/! I feel fine when I am just staying present to the now but when bad situations come up and bad emotions, I try to stay present to them but they just won't go!!

Please help x!

<3 Thanks!

If your wanting them to go your somewhere else. Try here.

If you still don't get it, forget about what you want and just listen to see what else he says. Or if you've had enough of whatever just forget it.

Maybe the pain is inside of you.

there is no one right way. there could be, many right ways. what's your right way?

Try them inside of you. And maybe they don't need to go.

Now that pain is here, you can't really just make it go away. I've tried that on a couple occassions lol.

What you can do is be the "space" for this. Allow yourself to be an aware conscious, the space from which everything happens. Being that space, simply observe it

When you experience pain, discomfort, constant wanting, irritation, the mantra is "Can I be the space for this?"

Yes, resisting causes the suffering. Being the space isn't just being present, but allowing and not resisting. Then when you are fully open to the emotion, it will be able to flow through you--but it won't happen if you are noticing it and just waiting for it to go away.

It takes practice, but it will happen.

Reading and listening to Tolle always reminds me of an easily digestible and consumbable versin of buddhism, which isn't a bad thing. Buddhists commonly say, that the 2 worst things in life are to not get what you want, and to ironically get what you want, because then you're always scared of losing it. Whenever I hear Eckhart talk and hint at resistence, this is always the first thought that occuries to me.

It sounds like because your ego is identifying with these situations, and labeling them "bad" and judging them, when the situation comes up, allow yourself to be present and become the observer behind your ego and the thoughts its thinking about the situation. Our ego's always want drama they want to find a way in. Try staying fully present in situations within going into the ego, you will be suprised how your reactions and emotions will change coming from present moment awareness.
I think he says somewhere in the book too, if you are trying to hard, that is the ego as well

That sounds right, and then I get frustrated by all that (so complex!), and then I know that's just the ego, so I get more frustrated and finally I just stop trying...and then aha! the ego starts to clear a bit. Then it cheers: "hooray! I did it" and I know it's back, but hey, a gap is a gap...

Yeah, it can be hard for me! But I think it doesn't have to be... and I think no effort is ever wasted. So I like to encourage others, because it encourages myself :)

Anyway, I like how you stated it, it's good to hear this stuff repeated over and over, each time we get it a little more, I think.

Oh thanks everyone! I keep forgetting that waiting the pain body out and seeing it for what it is is how to release it. LOL. I love Eckart!

I would not call this instict. I expect this behaviour is part of chimp culture, i.e. passed on from the older generation to the younger by example. Those tribes that don't exhibit dentistry probably reproduce less well.

That's right, but I don't think this is an inherited trait. I believe it is a developmental problem. In Weston Price's book, dental abnormalities occurred on the first generation exposed to processed Western foods.
