I am starting this discussion because I am considering buying a manual wheat grass juicer for juicing sprouts and greens mostly. I'd like to get a Green Star, but they cost $500! I used to own a manual wheat grass juicer before, but it started to rust so I threw it away. This is the juicer I am looking at now. http://www.877myjuicer.com/ViewProduct/HealthyJuicer-ManualWheatgra...
Does anyone have this juicer and would like to give feedback on it or would like to recommend another juicer? Remember I do live in Hawaii where there is lots of salt in the air that causes certain metals to rust. Much appreciated!
Sorry, the GS doesn't juice grasses that well. My Champion Juicer is the same way. When I was buying it they told me It would juice wheat grass. That isn't right. I know the manual grass juicers work well with wheat grass and will also juice the Dandelions I have trouble juicing through the Champion.
Its awesome. I've had all the mid-priced electric wheatgrass juicers and they work but they suck. None of them can handle. Samson parts break into bits and its constant, warranty is good though. Lexen blows fuses all the time but the parts are tough. The $160 commercial stainless steel manual is the only good steel one that doesn't rust on contact with water, but its huge and bulky and breaks everything in the sink if you drop it.
Then comes this gem, its $50 or less, works like a charm, easy to clean, can take it everywhere with you, comes with extra vital parts that really don't go bad. And above all, it feels better to work for your juice, you create a bond with the grass that is a truly different energy than using the electric juicers.
Its got a screen on the top of the collection thing. It works great. Its the best juicer for the money, hands down.
I juice wheatgrass a lot. The $700 commercial wheatgrass juicer is #1, this is #2. Any high dollar juicer (Norwalk or similar) is probably better, but I have no experience with them.
I have this one, which is stainless steel (so it shouldn't rust) and which I've only used once. I think it would probably last longer than a plastic model. I'll sell it to you for like, $40, if you want it (it's still got the box and instructions and all that jazz).
I saw the friday night lectures, since they were online for free.
I was wondering if you were any of the winners YB! So, you won the clarity..Yeehaw.
