Quite a few people have commented on negative energy pervading this site lately. I am guilty of contributing to it via a few squabbles on threads. Having received some rather tragic news regarding a friend of mine this morning, I was sitting here feeling extremely thankful, blessed, lucky, etc for a myriad of reasons. The wind is howling outside and the snow is falling but I am in a warm home. I have a healthy, rosy, active baby who has enough to eat and access to medical care if he ever needed it. I complained about not having what others were having to eat and overlooked the fact that my cupboard has fresh, organic vegetables I purchased yesterday. I can read, I can write, I have a formal education. I have the luxury of being able to putz around on the internet and argue over what to eat instead of having to worry about what to eat. I have clean water. I danced during an Independence Festival and have never known what it is like to be forced to speak a language other than my own.
I thought about posting some photos to illustrate my point: that some people have real problems but I'm sure you know or have encountered a person or situation that is close to your heart in this regard.
I invite anyone to pause for a moment and be grateful, if not for yourself then out of respect to those who would love to have what we have. We are truly lucky to be gathered together here on this site and have the many choices and opportunities we do.
I am sending out a huge, heartfelt Thank you to each person on this site. I am so glad we are all in this together and working toward a common goal. It's another thing I am grateful for, that I am in contact with people who have different levels of awareness, information and perspectives which can only benefit me.
Yeah, I feel lucky...punk.
