Give it to me Raw

Lately all of my sunscreens are seeming very chemically to me. They smell and taste really horrible (not that I eat them, they drip in my mouth). I cannot find a natural sunscreen that is spf 50+, waterproof and sweatproof. Anyone have any ideas?

I've been told by some knowledgeable friends that coconut oil and cacao butter have an SPF around 15. Both coconut oil and cacao butter are great for one's skin. One of these friends never liked to put on sunscreen until he came across miessence organics outdoor balm. I have a bottle sitting right in front of me, but I've yet to try the product.

Good luck in finding a solution that works well for you.

Have a gentle day,

hahaha! No I've only peeled a few times in my life, a touch of italian blood goes a long way... My friends call me Lizzard because my name is Liz.... I don't know why, I've just always been one of those people with weird nicknames, I guess people like to call me names! Anyway...
What is energy soup AW style?
I'm concerned because i don't want to be wrinkly and shriveled up like a dead lizzard when I get old. I spend a lot of time in the sun for both work and play. That is crazy you burn so easily! So you don't burn anymore?

I don't wear sunscreen, unless I can't avoid being at the beach or some such sunny place without shade or protection. I live in Australia, with the highest rates of skin cancer. There are many ways of avoiding skin cancer and sunburn. Eating lots of greens is a great way to protect from the inside. Studies have shown that increasing the consumption of greens significantly decreases the rate of skin cancer. And these studies were conducted on people eating a cooked diet, where greens consumption isn't huge by raw standards.

If I do use a sunscreen, I use UV Natural. But mostly I just avoid the sun, or wear a hat, protective clothing and I've usually got mineral makeup with natural sun SPF in it.

I'm always in sunny places. I actually really like the sun, but I am scared of it. I know a lot of Australians, and they definitely seem to have sun protection down. They usually have the gnarliest sunscreens and always in hats and long sleeves and such. Their skin usually looks pretty haggard too, despite their efforts.
Hmm.... I know all of you are saying not to wear sunscreen, you can protect yourself from the inside out, but I just can't seem to believe that, I guess it is so ingrained in me to wear sunscreen. Ahhhhh... Dermatologists say not to go out with less than spf 30 on. Why don't more people know that you can protect yourself from the inside out, by just eating greens?

Today I did an experiment with the sun..
FACT: Coconut oil DOES make you FRY
FACT: SPF 55 works better than SPF 30 and SPF 15 doesn't really do much
FICTION: You are protected from the sun from the inside out.
Yeah, I'm not convinced...
I decided I am going to continue to wear sunscreen. Everything causes cancer. My computer is probably giving me cancer right now. Good luck to you!

fact. the best way to protect your exposed skin is your diet. I have read a study they did a long time ago about algea supplements that protect against the sun. This was a long time ago. And even i have noticed i don't burn as easy.

"FICTION: You are protected from the sun from the inside out."

Lizzard, I think it is a little bit short to conclude this after ONE day testing...

* But I have read studies (longer than one day..)

that the following products do protect from the inside:

- Broccoli, and even better broccolisprouts
- Seaweed, and also products with astaxanthin, a very strong anti-oxidant used by nature to
protect against UV-radiation..
