ive used the ones without shells but they only work if grown in soil. they grew beautifully in the greenhouse. sometimes the leaves werent perfectly shaped or whatever; i suspect due to slight damage in the seeds in shelling maybe. but the ones in shells arent available raw organic here. the shellless ones havent worked well trying to do them in trays..they end up all funky becuase the roots need to take hold in order for them to grow tall. for some reason though when i tried transplanting extra ones into the garden, they all died, every one of them...i dont know if this has to do with lack of shell or not.
For Sunflower Greens like in the pic, you need to use unhulled Sunflower Seeds (Black Oil with the shell on), same with the Buckwheat Shell on (NOT the Buckwheat Groats: these are for Buckwheaties) and for Seed Yogurt or Seed Cheese you need to use Hulled Seeds (the raw shelled seed).
so, after you grow them... do you pull them root and all, then wash them ? or do you cut them ? also do you reuse the same soil ? for how many batches can you reuse the soil ?... sorry I am new to this.....
Yeah! I have been getting into apples big time, and discovering new ones that I have not tried before like the Honey Crisps! I always like the Gala too great for raw recipes!
Thank you for your positive words everyone. I've been raw for 8 months and it was simply dissappointing to have gone through such a binge! Besides I felt physically awful!
Onward we march from here! lol
