I don't think everyone out there is like that. Probably Miami is one of the most materialistic places in the US so it really is intense there.

But look at Buddhist monestaries etc. There are a lot of people living in these places who are more interested in spiritual attainment than monetary. There is a Catholic Monestary here as well. You can find a place like that just to spend time if you really need it.

happiness cannot be bought. No matter how much money "you" posses, it is never enough to maintain healthy body & mind. So, if you desire expensive spa treatment, good for you, but also you could read any book, let it be Viktoras, P. Ragnar, D, Wolfe or D. Graham, messege is still the same; take care of your self wheather you live in buttfuckegipt woodws or high class gated communities, like highrises in big cities. But, again , money will not pay for your self feeling good. Only your personal decissions and commitments will reach such goal.

The banks have just robbed the peeps of tonnes of cash by us bailing them out, now we're in the shit, in massive debt.
The national debt ! ! ! who is that owed to ? ? ? anyone worked that one out ? ? ?

Sorry I haven't read the whole thread just Raw is The Law's blast of truth comment ;)
...however much you have you will always want more. Wanting loads of money seems to me like wanting to feel secure, and money doesn't cure insecurity, only self love does. And by that I mean knowing who you really are...which is beyond an individual who just wants and needs...

I dunno. I think there is insecurity and financial insecurity. $$$ can definitely help cure the ladder. When ur broke or making ends-meet, you can be as obsessed with making money, if not more so, than the Ponzi-scheme running semi-humans of Wall St.

If making money is always a pressing need for you, than I would say yes, you need to have financial security before you can focus on what really matters in life. Because as someone pointed out money=slavery (for those who don't have a greater amount than their bills).

I don't think most people want "dirty loads of money." I think most people want financial security...to be able to provide themselves and loved ones with a "dignified" standard of living. Kinda of the way it was in America's "golden" era. I think back in those days, people realized the truth that NOT having enough money or having too much money was a surefire way to NOT keep people honest!!!! (Excluding the heavily spiritual...likes monks/those seeking enlightenment).
