absolutely...the primary place to learn to let go of money's toxic attachment is right here, right now. the ticket there is pretty damn cheap. of course, it sometimes has to earned and paid for in other ways.

That is an interesting observation. It is true up to a point. Because you can go out into the middle of nowhere and fast on water and exist as if you didn't have any money and it would be completely different.

When you go to places where you are given basic ammenities and are supposedly in an environment where money shouldn't be the dominant theme you are still in a place where money and technology make what is there possible.

There are also going to be people there who are part of the whole scene but still have a big ego about what they are doing and are still going to have aspects of their personalities that make judgements on how much money or education they think the other person has. There can be the most annoying person in the world there and they will be accepted because every 5 minutes they are reminding people that they live in Marin Ca etc.

I also went to a private school for a couple years where none of the kids had to worry about money and spent most of their time looking down on other people. It was pretty sad because they weren't as happy or well off as they believed.

Well getting away might be part of the equation, getting the distance. The other part of that equation I think is knowing how to train the mind once a person is away.

Attachment to money is basically a lot of things, at its root it represents attachment to security and not wanting to suffer from insecurity, its wanting a good reputation and partially takes root in wanting to be praised. If a person doesn't know how to systematically remove those types of root attachments, attachment to money isn't something that is easily going to be removed, attachment to money is just another symptom of a bigger problem

But do people really need money to get away from money? Well the tradition of people meditating in caves to get away from it all has been done for centuries, so not necessarily...

I think if you want to learn to forget about money, you need time and knowledge. Primarily time though. I think someone can always make more money, thats not really the problem, its living long enough to spend it..

my mentor says that the only true freedom exists for the mega rich - and even they are trapped by their wealth (but freer than we are).

Money was created to control, so if you are looking for freedom steer clear of focusing on money !!!!

Money was created by some one in order to control through slavery those who don't have it or those who want more of it..

If the supreme intelligence who created life had meant for everything to cost money that was important to us it would have included vending machines and change dispensers in the original design. Money has nothing to do with freedom unless you only live your life in the physical plane of existence, freedom comes when you are able to separate yourself from the fallen consciousness ruling this world and experience through inner connection with the all that is the ONE CONSCIOUSNESS that is truly responsible for our lives and has provided everything we need to be free. A vessel designed to house a Spiritual Being, the ability to received direct communication with the designer, the ability to express the will of that designer, and the absolute freedom to make the choices to fulfill that intention by the designer and live a life of absolute beauty , peace and fulfillment ourselves. However someone along the way changed the design and the rules and now we are all living their design and how does that look and feel to you. The only thing it can not do is make us see what is happening and choose not to let it continue,we have all chosen to play the money game and follow the lead of men who are only concerned with keeping us all slaves to it, game or no game we all have to make that choice............
