Give it to me Raw

Update: Alright guys, not trying to kill conversation, but this thread has said all that needs or can be said. If you want to talk about this further, startup a new thread. Cheers!

This morning I chose to remove Durian Rider from GI2MR.

If you've been here for long, you know that we've had a few incidents with DR on GI2MR. If you ask DR rider about these incidents he'll say that we have something against 80-10-10.

That couldn't be further from the truth. I regularly recommend the online community 30 Bananas a Day (which DR and Freela started) to people who want more info on 80-10-10. In fact, when Freela was first setting up the 30 Bananas A Day community she asked me for advice on building communities and I gladly helped.

So this isn't some sort of "raw conspiracy" even though I have a feeling that DR will try to make it sound that way.

So what is this about? This is about being a nice, decent human being and respectful to others.

DR, especially in the last 2 weeks, has repeatedly attacked members of this community with his "80-10-10 or die" message. To spread what he is up to, he puts others down. That's his style and that's fine, but it doesn't work for us at Gi2MR anymore.

In his mind, DR thinks he is being "revolutionary" and "uncompromising", but his mentor, Dr Doug Graham, who is a friend of mine, would never act the way DR is acting. Putting others down to lift his message up.

As an example: In a recent posting about Anthony Anderson, the Raw model, durian wrote:

"look at that pic of anthony 'crying' with his 10k$ perfect white teeth.. poor anthony had to 'resort' to eating animal products cos he couldnt imagine victoria boutenko in a bathing suit.."

Ask yourself, "Would you want to be friends with this guy?"

Not me and not many others at GI2MR. So, DR, it's time to go.

Wish you the best of luck at 30BD. I love Freela and love what she is up to. If you want a new 80-10-10 roll model hit Freela up. Or hit up my buddy George Wiggins who is also eats 80-10-10 and is a deeply compassionate soul. Just email me and I'll introduce you to him.

For those that don't like the fact we've removed DR from this site, you are more than welcome to express your opinion here. We may not agree, but I will hear you out.

The fact of the matter is that the movement has been infultrated by powder pushers and snake oil salesmen.
Right, everyone has goals. But it's not our duty to accommodate his to the detriment of those he attacks.

There's probably a place for him somewhere.

He at least has a base at 30bananas now. There's one site he won't be getting kicked from!
"He feels that it's his duty to speak out against the nonsense and evils that he sees in this so-called movement."

Fortunately God made us all individuals in a sea of life, because we are only responsible for our own journeys. We can support, empathize, acknowledge other journeys, but if we do what we need to do to progress, we are doing what in in the highest good for everyone.

Anytime I run into anyone who screams that he knows the truth and what is best for me, I run like h*ll.
Wow! Sad. I find this to be sad. Really. I have to agree wholeheartedly with a handful of folks so far who have contributed to this discussion. First, Where is the COMPASSION? I don't feel this is tough love at all if thats your intent. Sure, the first time I read a post or comment by DR I thought "hmm, he sure has a way of putting things...and a bit in your face"...however I, myself understand there are many sides to the human being and did not dismiss him, feel offended or any desire to insult him (as I have noticed a few folks are inclined to do on this site and in regard to DR). In fact, I was intrigued enough to check out his website and some youtube. And from what I could gather he's a person whom has aligned his visions of a good life with action and is living it. That is exciting, that is beautiful, that is inspirational! And I have to say Thank You DR! Second, Ok, so most can agree DR's approach to communicating isn't necessarily graceful. What about really asking yourself why your offended or experiencing distate with DR's comments? I did, and it brought me to a better understanding of why I noticed his tone. His passion for life, his committment, his intentions, his heart...all huge. Reminded me of an intense period of rediscovery and realignment within my own life which was also accompanied by an intense form of in your face communicating too. Honestly though, the communication tools I had been exposed to as a child were fairly antisocial. And I have to say if it weren't for the amazing, beautiful people in my life who were wise to my inner experience and allowed me to rant and rave, who gave me silence to ponder the reflection, I might still be pi&&ing vinegar. But that's my experience. You just never really know what's going on in the hearts and minds of others despite what's rolling off their tongue or being written. I don't know about ya'll but I saw DR's personality and life choices as an opportunity to open my heart even more!!! I ask you to look beyond the words on a computer screen, and see that he is coming from a deep place of LOVE. Peace.
This is not about DR's content. This is about his delivery.

The ends do not justify the means.
Ann, why don't you give me a call. I think you have a different idea about what I'm up to.

Or maybe you can email me your # and I'll call you. Would love to talk about what you think it is that I'm trying to do here.

You can email me at dhrumil@welikeitraw.com
maybe it is a cultural thing, he's Australian (and Aussie men in particular) have a certain way with putting things which might be taken in a way that was not entirely intended.
I know from being married to an American, who used to take offence and get upset at things I'd say and my ways when he first moved to UK. It got worse when he worked with English lads, he really took everything the wrong way, I had to explain it to him, and it took him ages to realise that it was just our sense of humour and no offence was meant at all. Then he joined in with it and we really had a great laugh. Now he is back in the USA he can see even more, with the experience of living abroad, the way Americans are so culturally and socially different to Europeans. I think it is the same with Australians.
We may speak the same language but misunderstandings are rife especially when it is all typed out and you can't see or hear the person's tone of voice, or facial expressions.
I don't know maybe I am wrong but I thought this when I was reading his threads, which made me howl with laughter, I just couldn't understand why people were getting so upset. So I thought to mention it here.
Thanks Zoe.

One thing to keep in mind is that DR has really upset and event hurt new members who aren't familiar with "the aussie style". He has a track record of doing so. This event was merely the culmination of all the events.
I'm Australian. durianrider's quaint delivery style is nothing to do with Australian humour or him being Australian. It's his delivery style alone, it's not an Australian thing that Americans don't get. Australians may be a bit less refined than some other countries, we do tend to call things what they are, eg a thug is a thug in any country. Problems understanding Australian idiosyncrasies really don't apply to durianriders delivery, his delivery is in a class of it's own.
When I first joined here I think was around the last time DR was banned. I remember reading his posts, as harsh as they may have been, and was even more inspired to delve into researching the best lifestyle for which my body could heal. I don't know if I would have embraced 80/10/10 had it not been for the delivery of DR's message.
Lucky for you he has his own forum! : )
whatever happened to suvin?
