How do you release/vent out negative emotions flooding your mind?

Any mental and/or physical exercises or practices that you love to implement to let go of negativity around? How have you trained your mind, body and soul to wear layers of firewalls around negative forces circling around?

If you are asked to name five or ten practices (not in any order though), which would be they?

Usually I'll call or text or IM a friend and want to or even start to bitch and then I'll realize its silly and try to change the subject.

Many many times I'll be feeling crummy and want to gripe and then someone will walk in and gripe at me instead. I work with the public, I'm a bit of a sponge that way, I have to deal with other peoples' situations and try to be open and upbeat so they'll relax and give me cash... And if you force yourself to be happy, you ARE happy! Its so funny how that works...

So in a nutshell, I just swallow it. Its never with me long enough to seep in, before I can ever really stew in it, someone with more troubles comes along.

i ve just come back from meditation and i always feel really good after that..any negativity just goes...
and my yoga too helps to make every cell in my body just wanting to be and all tingly
then i like to walk in amongst nature...that always brings a smile and makes me feel peas-ful
being with animals really makes me feel wonderful.....especially little podgy puppies and dolphins..aawww

and being with like minded human beans and having fun
after all are n't the best feelin' things in life free??! (:

I agree with other posters and other than the well known ways to relax and stay positive (mediate, yoga, exercise, etc), I also believe it has to do with the food you eat. Anxiety runs in my family and of course with anxiety comes negative emotions. I find it that whenever I eat simple carbs, starches, refined sugar, the negative emotions come up. Usually quickly and they leave relatively quickly. Not a good experience. Like a roller coaster.

So since I began to eat more fruit and vegetables--I have been a lot calmer and the negative emotions are not as frequent. Though you are on a Raw Food site so I take it you already eat a lot of fruits and vegetables.

I want to forgive people that hurt me as a child... but I am partially afriad to let go of it all or I don't know what makes it not fully gone. I don't want anyone hurting me anymore.

hmm, i might check this out as well. i have trouble with forgiveness as well... for old things, with my parents and sister. otherwise i forgive freely. its the old, deep, stagnant hurts that are hardest to clear out.

You just gotta let that stuff go... "When I was a child, I spoke as a child, I acted as a child, but when I became an adult I put away my childish things." You gotta put it away somewhere, hide it in the back of your (metaphysical) laundryroom.

There's not one of us, not one! who wasn't traumatized as a kid. When nothing has ever happened, you have nothing to compare to, everything is profound.
When you become an adult, you see how much time softens feelings and you see how much can & will & does happen... and then you don't take things to heart the same way anymore. Its just one more experience on the huge heap of life.

That makes sense.. I have noticed that I feel ok with just letting those feelings go.
I definitely want to meet people that will treat me better now.. or maybe there is another way to look at this.

Its not better its just I have certain things I am into now at this point in my life and I need to surround myself with people that support those things. Natasha like you were saying about people you know that party and are just into lifestyle things you aren't.. well I am like that. I think I tend to be a tad judgmental though which I really like to not be. Just cause I might not need to be around some of the things others choose .. i can just let it go right away and have clear eyes to look at everyone with.
