Give it to me Raw

Question: Who would you like to recognize and appreciate on this forum? Who has inspired your journey? Who has motivated you to become a better person? Who has changed your health?

Let us know who this person is and how they've impacted your life for the better! This is your opportunity to say thanks.

Friendship
Often when look back on our year we recognize that the highlights almost always come in the form of insights and friendships. This post is about the latter.

True Friends, be they real world or virtual, have the ability to remind us of our higher potential, inspire us to take action and lift us up when we've fallen down.

We're use to recognizing and appreciating physical friends. It's part of the human tradition of community. But it's a little tougher to recognize and appreciate online friends. Often the very people who have inspired us have no idea they've done so. We could read their daily blogs, skim their forum topics and watch their videos without any trace of an interaction. But, even though their might not be a trace of physical interaction, we can't deny for a moment that transformation has occurred.

This discussion is about honoring that person or those people that have helped you along your journey.

There are many on here who have touched my life in beautiful ways (Dhrumil, Philip, you guys go without saying), but particularly for their giving to the larger community:

I'd like to recognise Pete Vincent - for his continuing reminder the life is more than just about what we eat. It's about laughter, love, & sharing that positive energy with those around us. His sense of humour & enthusiasm is greatly appreciated.

I'd also like to recognise RawTastic! for her kindness, & loving support of so many on here, including myself.

Dhru, I love this thread.

I have a couple of people. First is you. Not just for starting this community, but for coming down, doing the Meetup, being the essence of peace that you are, caring enough to reach out and offer a hand when I was down, being an embodiment of light and of love that is just beautiful to behold. For being you basically. ;)

And Philip, man, where to start. For being open, for being honest, for letting your multi-faceted self shine through (Scorpio's don't know how to roll any other way). ;) For loving like you do, for learning like you do, for sharing like you do. For being one funny-ass dude. For sharing your poetry via live-feed. For inspiring others in both intentional and unintentional ways.

Okay, so maybe it's a few. ;) And Miss Penni! Oh girl, how do I love you? I can't count all the ways. She is light, she is love, she is strength, she is grace, and she is self-empowerment wrapped up in a pretty, loving, amazing Southern package. She is one of those people that enter your heart the moment you meet them, and you don't realize it until you've left! She is grace and love abounding, and I have nothing but HUGE love for my friend! :D

Thanks for doing this Dhru! I KNOW who I love and appreciate, but there is something to be said about sharing it with others. :)

I would like to recognize RawTastic

She has a cheerful word to say often
She gives great recipe ideas
She stands up for what she believes in
She reaches out to others
She listens and asks questions to learn more

Her dramatic personal health transformation is an inspiration to me.

After a lifetime of neglect, I finally recognize and appreciate myself. :-) In addition, over the past year many people have touched my life in very meaningful and ever-changing ways. It's hard to not take up pages listing everyone, because I appreciate so many people.

I fully appreciate these individuals, as well as many others not listed here:

* Rawbin (Robin Anderson)
* Jeff Rose (President of Natural Zing)
* Jim Dee
* Kevin Gianni
* Mark Malinsky
* Bryan Au
* Penni Shelton
* Bunny Berry
* Angela (MomsRaw)
* Debbie (DebbieDoesRaw)

Dhrumil, you deserve special recognition and appreciation because you work your magic so beautifully that many probably don't see that this community wouldn't be here without your vision and drive. On top of that, you inspire us to be true to ourselves, to find meaning and connection within and around us. I love you dearly and look forward to the day when we finally meet in person.

On a broader scope of appreciation, I'd like to recognize the entire raw food community. Without each and every one of us reaching out to each other, we'd still be alone in this lifestyle.

Lots of love to all of you,

Wendi
XOXOXO

Hi,
I know i am not always very active on this forum Dhru but i am always reading and learning from everybody here.

If i have to thank one person i think i have to go with Anthony! Anthony is the first raw person i've ever met and he took me to my first raw restaurant Quintessence. He has always been around to answer any of my many questions and never laughed at them either....He is just a great all around good person. I have truly special friendship with him and i wish him the best!!!

Thank you Dhru for this opportunity to give thanks!!! That is special in and of itself!!!

Through your courage to come forth with your trials and tribulations pre and after raw, Wendi you do inspire. Were it not for the fate of a wayward web surf one evening, we would not have met. Your patience prior to the Raw Retreat was inspirational indeed. The meeting far exceeded the waiting and I will never forget the thank you circle at the Ashram before the weekend wound up.

I know that through what I've gleaned from you, I have been slowly increasing my knowledge base and "paying it forward" Thank you.

Another special shout out to Ingrid. Your subtle encouragement to join the Green Leafy Recipe contest has pushed me yet further along my raw journey. The added bonus of having been privileged to garner a prize from your Raw Epicurean Contest has only been physical affirmation that the universe is guiding me ever so gently in the perfect direction.

Perkunas, for your smile that I can "see" though we've never met, and your words of wisdom that keep ringing in my ears about listening to what the fruits and veggies are saying to me today. Every time I make choices for my smoothies, I hear those words, and I listen, and learn. :-)

Om Shanti

Wow, thank you so very much, Faye!

It's not always easy to share the painful things, but many times in doing so we can help others. I am happy to inspire others to be all that they desire to be in this world.

I will never forget the thank you circle at the Ashram, either. I was overwhelmed by the love that flowed out to me from all of you present that day. That memory will stay close to my heart.

Thank you, Faye!

been a fan of durianrider since watchin his youtube vids long before joining GITMR.. i didn't realize his message was taken as controversially as it is until reading a lot on this forum.. but as much as he stirs conflict in those that don't like such an "in your face" tone, i think he spreads a really positive message.. totally inspirational from my end, and at the same time pretty damned entertaining with his quips and rhymes.. all that he does, from my perspective, contributes to much positivity towards the planet and its creatures and very little harm.. respek
