Give it to me Raw

hey guys what's up...so i've had receding gums since i was about 12 or 13 so about 8 years ...but they weren't ever really low... like dangerously low till i got my braces off a year ago...or at least that's when dentists (which i don't really go to anymore) took notice. The teeth in trouble are my bottom 6 starting from the middle and going 3 or 4 teeth...also 1 or 2 random ones on the top ...but they aren't serious(now) and even the dentists said they could reverse themselves.

So a procedure to get these fixed, would be a skin graft, skin grafted from a cadaver, onto mine, and god knows what kind of poisonous meds they'll give me during and after the procedure.

So my question to you is are there any natural INEXPENSIVE ways to reverse this....I recently committed myself the *811* and have stopped using honey, agave, and all other natural sweeteners, don't eat nuts, occasionally have some hemp seeds, and since i stopped the sweeteners and nuts my teeth and gums are MUCH less sensitive, but ya know my gums are still low. Should i just stick with 811 and watch my body heal itself or should i get the surgery...

the procedure is about $4000 i think maybe $6000... and I of course don't have that kinda a dough...just graduated high school... working so i can go to college in the fall...and my dad won't pay for it since i'm not in school now...

thoughts....

maybe onea you 811 gurus might wanna gimme a meal plan...(i am reading the book right now but maybe one of you veterans could give me some direction) fyi i'm still not training, but every other day or so i will walk 3-8 miles on errands....fruit available in austin, that i can afford....bananas, grapefruit, oranges, papaya, apples, pears, occasional persimmons....i've also been munching on alotta butter leaf lettuce(new fav) romaine, and like 10 stalks a celery a day...thanks

Cory, I suspect a diet rich in raw foods may help. I also think supplementation makes sense in some cases. I found this:

Hi Cory,
I am on an all fruit diet, so not 811, but high fruit!
My gums have really benefited from using 'Toothsoap', instead of the health brands of toothpaste, I had been using for the past 20 years.
My gums and teeth are less sensitive and feel good.
I have been using Toothsoap for about 10 months now. I don't know if the improvements that I have noticed are due to stopping using the toothpaste, or using the Toothsoap or a mix of the two.

If the gums have a good blood and nutrient supply, I don't see why they won't be able to heal.

Love and peace.

Cory, I am sorry to hear about your gum issues. Receding gums can be caused by many things, including a high bacteria count in the mouth or misaligned teeth. If your problem is caused by the latter, I don't have any suggestions; however, if it caused by the former, an inexpensive thing to try is oil-pulling. You could get started on $7 with a bottle or organic sesame oil.

You can google oil-pulling and read about it on the web. I first heard about it over a year ago and thought it sounded crazy. I have a history of periodental problems. I did some research and didn't see anything convincing. About 2 months ago I read a thread on another website where it was being discussed and people I knew thought that it was working. That didn't necessarily convince me either. This time I spent hours researching it on the web and found two unrelated medical studies where the bacteria load of patient's mouths were actually measured as part of an oil-pulling study. Both studies reported reductions of bacteria with oil-pulling.

I began oil-pulling and it works great. The hard part for me was finding the 15-20 minutes in the morning (you must do it when you wake up and before you brush or eat) to do it. I now either do it while I am in the shower or I sit on my bed and play a game on my laptop and oil-pull while I am doing that. I did it about a month before I had to return for my next periodontal cleaning. I am on a 4 months schedule for cleanings due to my periodontal issues. The periodontist put me on a 6 month cleaning schedule this go round because I had such improvement in my gums. I have been on a 4 year cleaning schedule for 4 years. It seems unlikely but it does work.

Hey Cory,

Its possible to reverse receding gum disease but there are of course no guarantees as always. I think Xerxes advice against acid fruits and nuts/seeds is a wise one for now. I'm no guru, but if you want a diet plan making up, feel free to PM me.

Take care

I dont know about the diet, but I had good results with changing my toothpaste to one that dosent contain glycerin (or flour) and using a soft toothbrush. My teeth are not sensitive anymore. They use to be really sensitive and the gum was reclining more and more. It is not healed up yet but the gums stoped reclining.
I have heard that people had good results with toothsoap. I havet tried it yet as I cant get it where I live, but im planing to buy some online to try it out.
Oil pulling is somthing I would try aswell.
Green smoothies are surpose to be great too (the way Boutenko advise; only fruit and greens). In a interview of Victoria Boutenko she talked about how great a gum exerciser is, to strengthen the teeth, jaw and gumes, or good for oral health in general. I gues it is the spit that is doing the healing aswll as the exercise of the jawbone and teeth. We know how important resistance traning is to prevent ostoposis. But I was thinkng of the similarety of chewing and oilpulling is stimulating us to produce more spit. Just a thought :-) ♥

Hello Cory

I'm definitely with Shanti on this. Victoria Boutenko has lots to say on greens and dental health and it's from experience. Fruit is such a perfect food for humans, we were literally built to wander and harvest it, but one just needs to be careful that it's not all our diet contains for long periods. As energy improves it's easy to start packing in more things to do and the time and thought we put into meals gets put aside.

So, esp if money is an issue, greens, greens, greens is the answer! Not only will the chewing help strengthen your gums, but it'll get that good bacteria/bad bacteria balance in your mouth back the way it should be, and the chlorophyll is help the ol' blood and lymph system...which is going to amp up the healing. (I'm not talking about the powdered green stuff either, although that will help. I'm talking about fresh :) )

Eating lots of fruit, you'll possibly not be too drawn to greens, so it may require a bit of "just doing it" it for a couple of days but I bet you'll be surprised at the new desire your body shows at it's new lust for the green stuff.

V best of luck to you :)!

I dont smell like fruit, but since getting all the processed foods out of my diet I find I hardly need deoderant. Theres definitely a noticeable improvement. What are people supposed to smell like? In nature, animals smell musky.
