I guess when I first went to raw meetups I thought these were super healthy vegans... Soon I found out that most of the people at the raw meetups were not vegan they just like to try superfoods and feel like they were actually healthy because of it. I am not talking about people who are working hard towards eliminating dead foods. I was like wow boy was I confused how come these people still drink milk and eat meat. Now that I have been vegan for a year and a half I don't know how people are unable to stay vegan. Sometimes I think people who claimed they were vegan never really were because once you know how bad animals are treated it makes you wonder that many people only care about their own self and I think ignoring the issue is not making the suffering go away. If you have not witnessed it yet you should. How can one be raw and in touch with nature and feel good, when there is so much out there that is just wrong and financially so many humans are supporting these practices. Just curious on why is it so hard to give up dead food for such amazing live food in which there is no suffering. Thoughts?
Not all farm animals are treated bad. I agree that commercial farming is disgusting but family operated farms are pretty decent most of the time. There is A LOT of benefits from animal products, for us humans truly are omnivores despite what your moral beliefs are.
Those are MY thoughts...
I totally respect your answer. I think though humans take animals as property. I sometimes like to put someone in an animals place. Like go ahead run around come here I will feed you but you can never leave because I own you and your mine. Doesn't sound so great even if I was treated nicely. As for omnivore well yes maybe you can eat meat but that does not define humans as as omnivores. I have seen cows eat other cows as humans will render up other animals for feed. That was one reason Oprah was sued on after she was totally upset that farmers were doing this. I notice often people would say but cavemen ate meat and I would say yes they did but it did not mean they were healthy. I don't believe that everyone has to be follow a vegan way but we can all survive without eating animals or eating by products of animals... and not only that we live healthier and better. Just thoughts...
People can rationalize anything. But to be really healthy people need to eat sea vegetables for the iodine, or other method like wild greens that are highly mineralized. In our culture it is so easy to get meat that people just fall back on it instead of making the effort to eat highly mineralized foods.
I also think most people who have been on antibiotics in this country are over run with candida which saps all their energy unless they feed it with meat and refined starches and sugars..
yes it's kind of a complex issue- but look at places where they are having riots in bread lines.. the candida \ carb addiction is that strong that people turn to killing each other instead of eating wild greens or finding other sources of nourishment.
I don't think it's a requirement of raw food enthusiasts to be in touch with nature....though I agree many naturally are.
And non vegans who are consciously choosing humanely / locally raised RAF are certainly not wrong as compared to those who choose raw veganism. Both are valid and personal choices. Many people move between and among these methods with the passing of time and personal observations. Today's raw vegan could very well be next year's % RAF.
The real problem is unconscious mass consumption of industrial foods of any type. Non vegan raw foodists are not oddities to me.
Buddhas' last words were said to be "Decay is inherent in all component things, Work out your salvation with diligence"
Awareness of awareness is what we are. Pure infinite thought. Creators and Gods of our own universes.
All else is illusion that we create, co-create, alter and copy to make it persist. Mind and Material universe as well.
Our conclusions, purposes, games, emotions, efforts, minds and bodies are on a decaying downward spiral ...
unless we examine them, seek the truth...with diligence improve, aspire and gain new knowledge to create ideal scenes for ourselves and others,
...we may be doomed to repeat our less than excellent policies and actions.
It's the Law of Attraction....WE pull in what we mock-up in our minds....whether we agree and admire it or disagree and resist it. Because we are creating it and other universes copy it, react to it, be it....whatever.....it arrives in our space if we continually create it. So I say lets' be aware of our creations and change them for the greatest good we can.
Our thoughts determine our function and that of our bodies as well. That function determines the structure of our bodies.
Its complicated, and that explains why people do what they do,
Understanding is the key to enlightenment...it takes effort and diligence sometimes,,,but worth it.
We are truth, right, serenity, and light. We can melt all ridges and barriers with love and understanding.
An infinity of awareness to you all. Love, Niki8
So far I have heard great perspectives. Yes there is suffering in the world. Yes life is not perfect and nor do I think vegans or 100 raw foodist are trying to be. I see frutarians preach their enthusiasm for their way of eating and others for whatever the cause may be. The way they live truely makes them feel great. No one again is perfect, I know this. But I think as humans we have a greater responsibility to not just think what we want to purify our bodies all the time, or how one can reach nirvana with some superfood, but think it should go beyond that. What is better for the planet, for the beings we share this life with and so on. I would hear all the time how hard being vegan is and how hard it is to find something to eat. I think in many case those who have tried or say it has not work for them is because they never went with the intent to stay on it. They just used it for whatever they needed for that time. I came from a Standard American Diet to where I ate no veggies. My veggie was French fries or ketchup. After spending 3 intensive years of studying nutrition and finding out the damage I was doing to my health and then jumping straight into veganism with out eating much mock meats at all I found a greater enjoyment of food. Not only that I felt better because I was making one more step to not take a animals life to satisfy my taste buds. Veganism is the best thing I ever did. I never cared for animals either but now I have a deep respect for all beings. Sometimes you got to step out of the Matrix to see the how the rest of the world lives is not so pretty. Vegans come in all types not one is the same. I love things about raw and I love things about veganism. Together I just feel all around good. I know it always seem if your on the other side that vegans are judgemental but it is kinda like raw foodism ... people are not forcing you to be this way but they feel so good and healthy they feel compelled to share their well being. Oh and I do agree that this way of raising animals today is just horrid and absurd. This way is beyond awful I think for most of my life I was fooled by marketing to believe animals were raised on grass on huge pastures... boy was it a shock when I found out the other way.

I'm with you, Vegan Seals. But, as gi2mraw does have a number of meat-eaters, rather than comment further here, I'll just link to a pair of articles I wrote on this.
The first one's on 'health reasons', and the second's for those who reject the arguments of the first - including a discussion of 'morals', and whether eating animals, however killed, can ever be done truly consciously.
I'm with you Vegan Seals, but I just don't bother to debate anymore.
There really is a chasm between those who choose to kill or have another animal killed for their food and those who choose not to. I admire your enthusiasm to breach this divide, but I only ever talk about this topic these days with people who have actively approached me about it.
I'm not an animal activist, I came to veganism through respect for other humans and a fair food distribution process.
From this perspective, I see that those eating organic, small farm produced 'ethical' meat are really part of an unsustainable minority who can maintain their ways only if the majority of humans do not follow in their footsteps.
If the whole of the world's population turned to wildsourcing estuary fishes, hunting and killing their own wild animals, or even sourcing meat from these small ethical farms that allow large roaming spaces and natural food sources then they would need to upscale their production. In order to feed a growing population on animal products, this is exactly what happened with mainstream farming, it's called factory farming, and it occurs in part in order to meet demand for these products.
That's pretty much all I'll say on the topic, it gets a little monotonous, and I really do have the utmost respect for people like yourself that can open up and maintain a genuine discussion of the topic, without lobbing verbal incendiaries and running away (yes, I have quite a number of problems with the argument methods of some vegans as well!).
Well we are not early man. Sitting on the computer typeing isn't natural. Not sure what being natural has to do with working out.
Jumping rope at a moderate pace seems okay for someone out of shape or for a warm up. If you want it to be an effect...
Check out Dr. Bass' books for a much more concise understanding of his research and findings. I bought his books immediately after watching these videos, and have been reading through them since. :-) Great info, thanks for posting! http://www.drba...
