I think that is a HUGE misconception that we have been fed by big business, gov't or scientists paid by them. When I was reading about sesame seeds for instance there is something like 5 million tonnes of them harvested every year. A lot of that is turned into oil that has no protein or other industrial products. If they were left in tact that could be the main protein source for a whole country! We do the same thing with peanuts. There are so many ways to get protein from plants that actually better the soil too. Not being able to feed the world on raw foods is one of the biggest lies out there that they are trying to make people believe!
i think we could potentially feed the world raw food if we changed though. plant sustainable foods like fruit trees. grains have to be harvested again and re-planted again. if we just used our land more sustainably.
I think the point is academic, Abhi, cuz raw is a fringe movement, besides, cooked is better than starving, you're right. I doubt everyone's gonna want to be raw, just me & thee.

Hey can a guy comment here?! :) With all due respect, Doug Graham uses "chemical coconuts" but he is still a wonderful teacher.? Regarding Durian Rider, has posted numerous times on another list I'm on calling people asshloles and idiots and saying that he knows why everyone has problems.. let's just say that his communication is FAR less than compassionate. I personally think it's important that some of us don't subscribe to "raw" as being dehydrated... who phoned that 110 degree thing around anyway? I know newbies eating handfuls of raw almonds who can't poop and wonder why they're bloated and can't lose weight. Do you think they know that raw almonds are "ANTI enzymatic" (inhibitors) & have indigestable hulls? After being raw for 8 years I listen to my intuition with my consciousness now & life is much more enjoyable! Every-Body's DIFFERENT and Every-Body CHANGES over time... so you can flow with it with a graceful balance or resist. Valya Boutenko said it best at the first Rawstock in her wise yet innocenct voice... "The more you know about love the less important food becomes"

That is so beautiful. Over time, raw food becomes boring. Yes, it will happen to you. Life will not revolve around raw food books and videos and retreats.
If you notice I hardly post in the general chat section. I post in the current events one.
Soaking might help, I really don't know for sure. My father eats soaked dried chestnuts. The dried ones are really hard and they get a little bit softer when soaking them, but they are'nt as sweet soaked.
recently i have come to believe i may (not fully sure) have candida. mainly for the following reasons: after any cooked meal that is high in startches like say risotto the next day my head is so fuzzy and i think it may be even hungover or drunk. ...
This is what my mom recommends too. The thing is I live in a high-rise building in NYC, so I'm definetely not "grounded".
The grounding bed technology makes sense, but it doesn't feel natural to me. Has anyone tried it? Did you notice any changes...

I LOVE this post. you have nailed on the head so many things that I think, about religion, food, dogma, etc.
It's true that so many legalistic people do not realize that what they're doing may come off badly to others; just trying to find what is...
