Raw food diet and Eye colour
Can eyes change colour when on the raw food diet? I've heard it's when the body gets rid of toxins but I didn't actually think it would happen till I saw today my eyes seem to be glowing and the colour is brighter! :) I also heard that if you had blue eyes as a child then eating raw food can make you change back to the original colour? has anyone had any experience with this? Thanks! :)

I noticed mine got brighter and greener. Oh, and this one ugly red vein that discolored my whites is gone...really happy about that.
I hope no one mentions Iridology and the idea that green eyes indicate toxicity and that only brown and blue eyes indicate true health...I saw it on another raw forum today...it's so ridiculous that whenever I see someone discussing it I want to know who their high school bio teacher was. I know someone who had pure blue eyes and drank himself to death and ate crappy food. I like my hazel eyes :)

hmmm interesting, I heard that too.. I doubt it's true though cos I eat really healthily and they've stayed green. but who knows maybe as I stay on this diet they'll change even more! they're green but with brown in the middle so I guess the brown might disappear? Ohh? RawZi how come green is healthier? do you know? thanks for the info guys! :)

Bowie's eyes are different colours naturally, because of a childhood incident (a blow to the head from another student is what I've read!)

Well Mellifera, my old iridologist told me that blue is healthiest for people with naturally blue eyes (they turn green when there is too much acid in the system, and back to blue when the body is more alkaline). Clear brown is healthiest for people who have naturally brown eyes (they will turn yellow/green/muddy when toxic). I dunno, my eyes went from green to blue (I was born with blue eyes) when I got healthier. So I'd consider it true because it's true for me. But blue and brown aren't the only indicators of health. There's hazel (they usually show as greenish/brown eyes with some blue/grey, I think, and shouldn't be confused with toxic eyes) grey and black eyes too, those they are less common. Blue and brown are just typical eye colours.
That being said, I think everyone's bodies manifest toxins different. For me, my body got *really* acidic the greener my eyes got (I couldn't consume anything at one point because the acid reflux, ect. was so terrible). It went away as my eyes got bluer. My dad has sky blue eyes, and he eats junk. But if an iridologist looked at his eyes, I'm guessing they'd see a lot of tiny black streaks (toxins). His body obviously doesn't process toxins the way mine does because I could never eat what he does. Thus, how his body processes toxins would show differently in the eyes than it would in mine. Looking at old pictures of my mom she had chocolate brown eyes, and now that she's older and has been completely sucked into the SAD lifestyle her entire life, her eyes are yellowish/green brown with tons of black marks.

I like having green eyes but up until I was about 5, my eyes were blue, then they changed. I always wondered why this is! Do you think it's toxin build up? I wouldn't mind having blue eyes again! :)

I've studied iridology, and that concept never sat well with me (that blue is the only true natural eye colour). It's an antiquated concept, one that doesn't take into account inherited pigments. A lot of iridology is pretty remarkable though...it's a pretty good map, as my ancient native friend said. Just like the lines on your palms and the soles of your feet!
I think it's the commonly accepted interpretations that are the problem, as for your article, I would say that I could find dozens of 'evidence' and 'opinions' against the raw food diet too...just sayin'.

My eyes went from lime green with lots of black streaks to sort of a clear, deep sea blue. People have noticed the difference.

What I learnt from an iridologist is that yes, underneath any other colour on top, ALL eyes are blue, but the darker colours that get layered over are related to where we have received our genes from and the amount of sun exposure typical for that gene pool. Thus it's like the darkness or lightness of human skin, relative to the places our gene pools have developed.
So, people with black or dark skin tend to also have black or dark eyes, whereas people with fairer skin, in northern climates with less intense sun exposure have less need for the eye to have that protective layer and we can see the blue more frequently... "

Yes, eyes can change color and they can get more clear and pure, when the body heals inside you can see the changes in the eyes.
It's so amazing how my eyes got more deeper blue and they sparkle, the dark spots in them went from dark, to lighter gray, then to white,
then to my natural blue color. Also, the fibers came closer together too. They changed so much and keep changing for the better and looking
nicer as time goes by, with this raw vegan lifestyle!
My mom, does Iridology and studied with DR. Bernard Jensen, the main guy in Iridology, when he was alive.
My mom wrote a book called: The Cure Is In The Cause.com she, talks about Iridology a lot, raw food and such.
Highly recommend her book to everyone who want to learn more about Iridology, true health and raw foods!
