I've been suffering from acid reflux for almost four years but have been able to control it by eating small meals and eating mostly raw. However, I'm curious about raw cacao. Does it have the same acidity as cooked chocolate? I'd love to hear your thoughts on this.
That's interesting Starfire, what are the affects? during my last trimester of pregnancy with the twins I had a raw choco - maca shake a few times a week to help me with the fatigue. I found that I produced more milk with the twins but still not enough to fully supply them. I've never had any issues with raw cacao, however I prefer to stay away from stimulants as much as possible.
Daves books told me no bananas and to eat the raw chocolate. That advice disagreed with me alot.
I asked them at rawfood.com what the deal is and they said not everyone can use raw chocolate.
Telefunken sorry to disagree with you.
No problem Kim. I actually wasn't focusing on DW's cacao mania. Just the celery juice being beneficial with acid reflux. I'm not a huge fan of cacao....but I do occasionally like to get high on it. : )
No. I can't say I've had any negative side effects with cacao. I have experienced crazy energy from the stimulant properties, but when it wears off I can't say I feel any hangover type effects. For me it's just another "tool in the kit" so to speak. It has it's place, and I just like to play with it when the mood strikes.
Celery: I have to admit I'm a crazy freak for celery. I'll easily eat the whole thing in one session. (must be room temp.)
Your acidic, you need to alkalenize your body. I suggest getting a book called "Alkalinize or Die" by: Theodore Baroody. Another factor in reflux is improper food combining. I would also suggest getting a combining chart and living by it the best you can. Make H20 your best friend as well.
As for Cacao, it's not even worth my time to speak about.
Good luck.

Raw cacao. I wish someone had warned me. So many raw foodist selling and pushing it. Telling you how good it is for you. All I can say is there are alot of people who it disagrees with.
Not a good choice in my opinion.

Yeah, never much thought at the time though as it was late at night and had been about 40 degrees here. Oh well. I am so familiar with the way the Engish and Irish talk that I just assume everyone is the same with the kiwis and Aussies.
