Give it to me Raw

A friedn of mine rang me recently to tell me of yet another of her old friends who is dying from cancer. Now what odd is that these people where hippies, the original ones, and they were mostly vegans, they had small holdings, they were very free thinking and relaxed, very chilled.....of course they had problems in their lives but above all they were new agers, into health foods etc etc

However the thing that connected them was pot..they grew it and smoked it...now of her friends who didnt smoke, they are mostly fine, and no deaths so far.....

What I am saying is...please think about NOT ever smoking pot as its carcenogenic, and much worse than ordinary cigarrettes....it increases your chances of cancer.

These were healthy eating, lean looking, fit people..or they should have been, but they are dying or they have died, at age 55 to 60....she was in tears as its getting so that she is just waiting for the next old friend to ring her and tell they have cancer too.

Please is if your 20 to 35 have good hard think about it as thats the time when it effects you most and you will store up trouble for later....

Bottom line smoke of any sort going into your air passage is not a good idea... Would you breath the smoke of a campfire... or if you were in a burning house? no because smoke is bad. Smoke of any kind is toxic. Even incense. Breathing anything other than Clean ear is a bad idea.

Ingesting anything that creates that affects your nervous system is not exactly good idea either. Those things can not be healthy. Now if your health is not something you are into then I to each his/her own. I personally respect myself to much to smoke anything. I like my air clean.

Bottom line you mess with your health then you must be willing to accept the consequences. That is just my opinion.

I think hemp on the other hand is great and sustainable for clothes, paper etc...

Sometimes I think the bad outweighs the good, when we're talking about marijuana. sometimes it just becomes another thing to fall back on, another addiction like the lattes and ice creams and beers. but other times it really knocks me out of my socks and shoes and forces me to see all the bullshit of what i've been doing and awakens me. i think the real key is keeping the sacred things sacred. don't do it all the time. don't let it become an every day thing. then it will have minimal effects on your health and you won't turn into a sleepwalking zombie. i just really don't think things are so black and white anymore. there is such a grey area. always good and bad to look at. the trick is to stay balanced, even if that probably sounds abit trite.

I agree Shiv.

Nothing good happened for me when I was using pot on a daily basis, multiple times a day. Quite the opposite. It stunted my growth when I abused it like that. Even when eating raw and exercising regularly.

I don't know. I'm totally pro-legalization- I do have common sense. But I smoked an eigth every other day for years and lymph system has never gotten back on track, despite having quit five years ago. I've got a lump under my chin that pulses with pain still. I've mentioned it to doctors and they just won't address the issue. I'm concerned about what it it.

I am not against folk having the odd spliff if thats what they want to do...
but i know that using it on a regular basis really plays havoc with the spleen, which in chinese medicine is the ``battery`` of the whole body..ie the immune system...so if you have any imbalances then this will become even more out of balance....the spleen is all to do with white blood cells...and if you smoke pot regularly then you will be prone to complications. It also weakens the wood element....the gall bladder in particular, and so making decisions becomes more difficult and it will affect your mood and digestion too....
you can also see there will be slight change in the facial skin colour...a sort of yellowish greenish tinge...
I believe that smoking it with pure herbs is better than using the cigarette tobacco....which makes sense?(:

I agree with Marta:

"i think the real key is keeping the sacred things sacred. don't do it all the time"

Has anyone else here ever actually communicated with plants? I'm curious, because I'm wondering if anyone else is getting defensive on behalf of the plant kingdom here, LOL! I just hate it when people blame their addictive tendencies and irresponsible lifestyle on plants, be they psychoactive like marijuana or mood-enhancing like cacao; or just plain yummy like mangoes (which also have a degree of toxicity...)

Marijuana has been used to treat glaucoma, relieve nausea induced by chemotherapy, it is an antibiotic to pathogenic bacteria like strep and staph, it is considered a pain reliever, anticonvulsant...and as another member pointed out with a diagram previously, it is a fiber and oil-seed plant that can be used for everything from clothing to fuel to paper-you name it! (Eastern Central Medicinal Plants and Herbs, Foster, Steven, and Duke, James A. NY 2000.)

Marijuana on a psychoactive level is the only shamanic 'flying' herb that you can safely use without supervision. It has actually been used to initiate and train apprentices...but as I said before, when used properly and in a reverent fashion, it can be incredibly beneficial to increasing your light presence. I just prefer the method of raw food, sunshine and meditation!

Like anything, don't over due it...if you eat enough parsley you will accumulate arsenic...

It has been known for many millennia, and perhaps even before the advent of languages, that there exist in nature certain substances which greatly aid personal unfoldment. Known today as "entheogens" and also, "teacher plants", such substances are becoming more widely understood as accelerators of human consciousness. Among these is the Cannabis Herb, also known as "marijuana", whose flowers induce THE HIGH.

That's quite the harvest! A couple of years ago where I live the cops raided a HUGE amount of weed, and they took it to the dump! Word got out and I kept hearing about people breaking into the dump and dumpster diving for pot. Hilarious!

There are many much more harmful things that should be made illegal. The money spent on policing nature could be better spent elsewhere, and so on and so forth...

things that have actually worked for me: Valerian root for tea - very calming... Lemon juice, sliced lemon peel, lemon grass or lemon verbina, raw honey, star anise (optional), maybe some ginger, hot water (let it all infuse together for a while) ...
