Give it to me Raw

A friedn of mine rang me recently to tell me of yet another of her old friends who is dying from cancer. Now what odd is that these people where hippies, the original ones, and they were mostly vegans, they had small holdings, they were very free thinking and relaxed, very chilled.....of course they had problems in their lives but above all they were new agers, into health foods etc etc

However the thing that connected them was pot..they grew it and smoked it...now of her friends who didnt smoke, they are mostly fine, and no deaths so far.....

What I am saying is...please think about NOT ever smoking pot as its carcenogenic, and much worse than ordinary cigarrettes....it increases your chances of cancer.

These were healthy eating, lean looking, fit people..or they should have been, but they are dying or they have died, at age 55 to 60....she was in tears as its getting so that she is just waiting for the next old friend to ring her and tell they have cancer too.

Please is if your 20 to 35 have good hard think about it as thats the time when it effects you most and you will store up trouble for later....

Correct story about "smoking" pot, but it is of cause not the whole cannabis story.

Lately I have informed a pot smoking child (17 years of age...) , about all the different
manners to take cannabis, and what the differences for health-effects are.
A spectrum from "very bad, via bad, towards better etc...".

I can't effect what will happen in someone's behavior, but different stories/information can be told, and what will be will be,
based on a wider spectrum..

'.please think about NOT ever smoking pot as its carcenogenic, and much worse than ordinary cigarrettes'

Please footnote some studies that support the factuality of this statement.

Google and the information is out there ..theres a lot of it, and I its a fact that people who smoked while at university and further along are getting cancers, you have a 50% higher chance of getting cancer, prticularly ovarian, lung, and lymph.

Theres a lot of tar for one thing. I wish they could just decoct it and people could just enjoy the happy chemicals..but until then, its a dangerous thing to be putting into your lungs and body.

Trouble is its the young people who feel they are indestructible and know everything that are smoking it..by the time you grow up and have a good hard cold think about it, its a bit late.

If it was not forbidden, it could be explained better to people which are the different methodes
and which are the effects on health..
The choice people make now is not honoust and not based on info, but on culture of supression..

The best choice for healtheffects in my country is a kind of cannabis-spray, I even dare to say it is healthy and not damaging at all, but I will try to research first before saying such a thing.
It is sold "under the counter" or how do ya say that..?
Maybe I come back on it tomorrow, if I can get one..

Anyway, THE CANNABIS-SPRAY IS FORBIDDEN, AND THE MUCH WORSE SMOKING IS ALLOWED IN MY COUNTRY...
That's the REAL problem...

Thats daft...I know you can get this spray for arthritis, or at least it was on trial in the UK recently. It works..and is healthy as its just a efined part of cannabis.

Here is something google turned up:

'The most extensive study to date on marijuana and mortality was conducted by investigators at Kaiser Permanente and published in the April 1997 issue of the American Journal of Public Health. It showed no substantial link between regular marijuana smoking and death, but suggested that marijuana prohibition may itself pose a health hazard to the user.

The Kaiser team, led by Stephen Sidney, MD, looked at 10 years of mortality statistics for more than 65,000 men and women who received health check-ups at Kaiser’s Oakland and San Francisco hospitals between 1979 and 1985. Patients were divided into groups ranging from those who had never tried marijuana to those who use it currently or regularly.

Mortality statistics for all patients were followed until 1991 and analyzed for any association between marijuana and death. The study’s statistical methodology controlled for the use of tobacco and alcohol so that deaths from marijuana smoking could be clearly defined.

Researchers found no increase in deaths among the more than 14,000 patients who reported they were marijuana users as compared to those who had never used marijuana.

Researchers found no increase in deaths among the more than 14,000 patients who reported they were marijuana users as compared to those who had never used marijuana. They further noted that the total mortality risks associated with marijuana use were lower than those for tobacco-cigarette smoking for both men and women. Women who used marijuana also had a lower risk of total mortality as compared to those who consumed alcohol regularly.'

The study doesn't say whether the smokers used the Marijuana WITH or WITHOUT tabacco...
This realy makes a big difference.
If the study doesn't cope with this detail, it can be thrown away as useless and misleading..

Most studies are incomplete, or/and not precise.

Yep, they have found ways to forbid the use of the plant, because they are afraid of the healing qualities...
It is important that this "is been seen" by the citizins...

Well I agree on this..but ..it is a medicinal herb..not something you take everyday , or a lot of. I think the problem is addiction and huge consumption that people get into. As a wonder plant it s amazing....but like cacao its a powerful plant and as such its something that the body doesnt need much of, or only when the body is ill, like with arthritis, for healthy people its not necessary, and the way most people take it into themselves is not healthy.

They gave Pot pills to my grandfather back when he was alive and in the hospital.
He went from not eating anything to saying "this hospital food is the best I have ever had in my life."
Now that is powerful if it can make hospital food taste good.

Also hundred of thousands of hippies smoked it and still do and all the ones I know are still ROCKIN.

There are worse thing than a little weed.

This maybe research thats too old..the problem is the generation that smoked from the sixties seem to be getting it NOW..in there late 50s...so there needs to be another research push...on here I always hear..i dont belive in research I believe in my own understand/experience of a thing.....I am just passing on a relaity thats effecting a group of people who smoked, and were in every other way very healthy.

Thats a reality....one I wanted to bring up....its too late when your 55.

yes its a wonderful plant and research needs to be done to release all the amazing properties from it..and a safer way of inhaling..taking it into the body....I am not against it...

Jennifer, what are the healing qualities of Canibus?? I'm curious.... I thought it was nothing more than a pain reliever at best for people suffering from terminal illness. I never got the whole "Marajuana" movement. I guess I never really got why people felt the need to escape in the first place. A mind altering drug is a mind altering drug,... why alter the mind? And I'm not looking for some psychadelic hippie response to outer universes either, I really want to know why the need is there in the first place.
Thanks ;)

There is a great fruit wholesaler in town, specializing in Local, organic fruit actually. All I need is a few people, a car and one willing person to go up there with me at some unholy hour (they close at 9am) once a week and it's beautiful fruit ...
