me and my bird who i rescued! i am in love with him!! we eat the same foods, veg, fruit nuts and seeds and we sing and dance together. birds are indeed SO SMART. like little monkeys. if you do like birds please go and rescue because a lot of birds need homes and i think there is nothing sadder than birds being kept in cages for their whole lives.

i love any bird that can sing, they are the master musicians, they have an infinite range of notes to play, and they can sing the same song everyday and make it sound different each time.

I didn't think about that! But you're right, it does. Birds of this genus and a few other pheasants exist only in a small range in the mountains of China, Pakistan, India, Afghanistan. They look like none of the pictures I've ever seen of them online. In person they look as though they were long left to evolve by themselves... but also as though every single bird on the planet is also part of them! Every conceivable surface is a different pattern or shade.

The Tui. It's an iconic New Zealand bird and they sound like home to me.

Magpies have always been special to me. They are a type of crow. Once I lived in a house with 2 magpies that I used to talk to and kind of play with. When my relationship was going down the tubes and I was getting really sick of my then boyfriend, whenever he used to stand at the front door trying to get his key in the lock (we had a dodgy lock) the magpies would start doing their crowing/laughing thing at him and pick moss off the roof and chuck it on him. He was really annoyed with them but I used to laugh a lot about it.

I love peacocks too, they're a type of chicken!

The Robins you get in the USA are hilarious because here in England we get them but they are tiny, just maybe the size of a hand, but your USA ones are huge to us and just look like comedy birds ;)
