Ok, so it might sound like the most ridiculous question....butttt.....
Is popcorn raw? It starts off as a seed, then put in the microwave for only a minute on a low temperature and its done.......?
I've just started a 12 week raw challenge with a friend - and to transition into it, we are only having one cooked meal a day, that being dinner - although my first two days I did 100% raw, but today I had some popcorn and was wandering whether that was raw or not?
I've had popcorn 3 times in the past 3+ years, and each time I ate it, I woke up the following morning with a splitting headache and arthritis in my hands.
Not too sure what that means, but no other food does that to me (although, I am sure the chemical movie theater version has something to do with it)
I just heard about something that Hippocrates does with popcorn, which is "air pop" it. Not too sure how hot that gets or any of the details, but it is something they do offer while on the Life Change/Health Educator program.
Popcorn remains my kryptonite in the cooked food world. I've been good with it as of late, craving it only once in a while, but I will choose to stay away, especially after feeling the results of it firsthand.
I sometimes make it on the gas stove with coconut oil... then I drizzle olive oil and sea salt on it. It definitely causes inflammation and can be numbing, but if I had an intense craving and was going to reach for something else, this would do. Until I get smarter about my emotions : )
One day when I get my hands on a dehydrator I will make vegetable chips and other wonders and somehow re-create that popcorn taste.
I agree about the microwave. Those things are creepy...
Ok, if you want to really know:
TV wastes your brain cells and your time. Turn it off, or better yet, sell it and buy yourself a bike or something like that. Not into getting programmed. TV is watching someone else having all the fun and doing th...
Larabars are 100% raw (well, most of them) and they're really good. Think Organic bars are raw and organic. You'll get twice the Larabar for less money, but they're both really good.
Please share your easy desserts. I've finally gone 100% raw, but I'm having a hard time staying way from candy... (I haven't caved yet) I'm looking for desserts that don't need nuts as I'd like to eat them after dinner.
Thanks!
