Give it to me Raw

Hello! I recently found this community, but I've heard about raw foods before. Now, I'm starting to research raw foods before I start my new lifestyle. But, I'm just so overwhelmed. I've found some links and newsletters and podcasts (Raw Vegan Radio/We like it Raw) but I'm confused. Some of the information is contradicting (what is with bowel and liver cleansing?!) so I don't really know how to launch. I need a solid place to launch off, but I've probably subscribed to too many raw food gurus... and now I'm confused.

I am a college student, so a lot of these recipes are way too complicated and time-consuming. Can someone tell me a good place to start?

I am currently a vegetarian who does not eat dairy.

If someone would be as kind to friend me and help guide a newbie, I would be so grateful! Thank you!

Add more raw foods gradually and the SAD foods gradually diminish from your diet. This is a great time of year to begin transitioning because of all the fruit that is available.
Its neat to read what gurus have to say about which form of raw is best, but its best not taken as gospel. They are going to contradict eachother, otherwise what would they have to sell?
Dont worry about SAD food slips, they are a normal part of transitioning. If Im going to cheat on something, I try to choose wisely. That way Im satisfied and ready to jump back into eating raw again.
Above all, have fun!

I'd have to say, when going raw in your 20s, especially in college its all about balance and keeping it simple. Making the best of what's around so you don't end up missing out on anything is important. Don't skip out on events, parties, and gatherings just because they won't be serving your ideals food. Do your best, listen to your body. Eat raw whenever possible. When you are consuming cooked food, try to fill your plate more with the stuff you know your body needs and just a little bit of the other stuff. You can find raw food just about anywhere. I actually just ate a raw meal at Fridays!!! Crazy!

Keep it simple really is the best advice.

And for my shameless plug of the day, I have a recipe blog, rawfoodpunk.com. I am all about keepin' it easy, I post recipes at least 3x a week that are easy and super tasty. Check it out, hope it helps!

It's very possible. 15+ years in the game, and you learn a lot, like how to reach your audience. You think he'll let me see his home in Hawaii?

I've met some hit chix on GITMR. Not satisfying in the least. Just the opposite. Most communication is self-defeating, accomplishes nothing. I would love it if people would leave me alone when I'm out and about. Anybody else?
