Give it to me Raw

Hello! I recently found this community, but I've heard about raw foods before. Now, I'm starting to research raw foods before I start my new lifestyle. But, I'm just so overwhelmed. I've found some links and newsletters and podcasts (Raw Vegan Radio/We like it Raw) but I'm confused. Some of the information is contradicting (what is with bowel and liver cleansing?!) so I don't really know how to launch. I need a solid place to launch off, but I've probably subscribed to too many raw food gurus... and now I'm confused.

I am a college student, so a lot of these recipes are way too complicated and time-consuming. Can someone tell me a good place to start?

I am currently a vegetarian who does not eat dairy.

If someone would be as kind to friend me and help guide a newbie, I would be so grateful! Thank you!

Yeah unfortunately you can hear tonnes of conflicting information out there.
Only you know, what will work for you as you try new foods and tastes. It will change all the time, it can also be very seasonal. The more you get into your feelings, stomach and heart about foods, the easier it will be. When people try to intellectualise things it can spiral them into trouble.

What worked for me was to just add in more and more raw till i wanted nothing but the best feeling inside my stomach.
It felt like my whole body was smiling inside.

Bless YOU!

I started by reading the book, "Green for Life." I then started making a green smoothy for breakfast everyday. After about a month or so of this it seemed logical to try to add more fruits and veggies into each meal. I've been raw for about 6 weeks and I'd say if I hadn't done the green smoothy breakfast as a precursor things would have been a lot more difficult.

I'll check out the book!

I love your rules, I will remember them when time and resources become scarce, it really is that easy! Thanks!

That is the best most simple method I've seen.

Be your own RAW GURU. Each person has their own unique guidance system. ---Listen to your cravings
for healthy foods. And I say never say never.
I love being mostly raw but if my body screams for a little peice of salmon I listen. Your body has DIVINE intellegence just listen.

When I started raw I listened to "the experts" and it never really worked out--you know more about your body than anyone.

BLESSINGS KIM

And remember what you put in your mind is just as important as what you put in your body.
