Give it to me Raw

Have you ever released noticeable toxins from your digestive track? I released some kind of dark rubbery rope yesterday when I went to the bathroom, and all I'd eaten for two days previous is watermelon and perhaps some celery. It was stringy and mucousy and ropey and composed most of my bowel movement. GROSS...but cool...it looked like what's supposed to come out of your butt after doing one of those special cleanses.

I went to the bathroom this morning and went poo, and there it was again, less of it, but still the same color and texture and appearance.

What do you think? Did I release toxins? Since I water fasted in January I've felt that I've had some "stuff" trapped inside of me from that period of cleansing, just waiting to be released. I'm wondering if it's beginning...I'm also breaking out at the same I'm releasing this dark rubber in my poo.

Someone told me I might be releasing mucoid plague.

Cool! I don't know what that is, but better out than in, so it sounds. Awesome.

have you considered colon hydro therapy?

some argue that fasting in this modern toxic world is to much a burden on the colon and it needs some help.
apparently the 'gravity method' is the safest. i went to one and the first couple sessions the therapist told me i was so clean, blah, blah, i just don't need it...but then on the 3rd time (which was only a couple days after the 1st and 2nd time) all this rock solid black stuff started comming out. i don't know if i could have moved that on my own.

i love seeing strange and interesting things comming out. one time it was white chunks that look mushroomy come out. i think that was candida.

it's all sooo interesting.

i dont know any colon hydrotherapist here. this sounds really cool.

i always love interesting things coming out. i would do well with some hydrotherapy or colon cleansing.

You necrosed your mucosal layer of your gut. Contrary to what many raw fooders would say, this is a bad thing. I've done dissections of humans(healthy humans killed in accidents included) in class and the mucosal layer might look gross, but its the home of your good bacteria, which you just evicted. When the mucosa is damaged or killed, it sloughs off, accounting for the stuff that comes out after colon cleaning.

The whole attitude towards this wonderful, but not beautiful, part of our bodies in the raw and alternative health movement is disturbing to say the least. Not all mucus is bad!

Why did this happen? Probably undernourishment. Watermelon and celery? Your bacteria probably didn't have much food and then it got hit by a bunch of fiber. Could also be something in those foods that is irritating. Your gut will be extra vulnerable in the next few days. If you can get some coconut kefir, this is the right time to have some.

Fasting is a much better way to "cleanse." It allows bad bacteria to die without getting rid of the good guys.

I've done long water fasts, including a 18 day water fast in January. I am definitely eating enough, since I make sure I get at least 2,000 calories from fruit (in this case watermelon) each day, and I track my micronutrient ratios over time. I'm not undernourished; I feel full of vitality and I don't believe that I just shat my bacteria out, LOL. That doesn't make much sense to me. My body is intelligent and I've been honoring my body with the highest quality foods available and I trust in its ability to cleanse itself. I have more energy, endurance and stamina then ever before and I feel great. Thanks for your input though. I may indeed do another fast soon. I've cut out the celery for now but watermelon is still delicious so I'm still monomealing on it.

thats awesome. i see Mell's point but... hmmm... makes me want to monomeal watermelon for 2 days. sounds like a good combo actually. i think i really need to monomeal for a few days.

oh yeah, and i think watermelon has a tendency to actually come out ropey sometimes...i DO remember this... so maybe the rope was the watermelon fibers intertwined (maybe even with the celery) and the dark stuff was bad things

I guess if you think of it as eating raw as what God intended, and makes us the purest version physically of what were meant to be, then maybe it is a way to get closer to God and clear away the distracting mess of sickness, and the hormone and em...
