Give it to me Raw

Kim Caldwell

Ordered 80/10/10 what should I eat while waiting for it?

Hi the big buzz around here seems to be 80/10/10 by Dr Graham.
This is so cool and vibrational. I think there are alot of us not transitioning away from the
"gormet raw" and this book looks like it will help.

While I am waiting for the book I want to get started. Frank told me lots of fruit and some ideas.
Does anyone else have any experiences with it and what should I eat.

Why does he say olives are bad? (someone mentioned it in the amazon review)
And sounds like bananas get a high rating which I LOVE.
THANKS KIM

I would eat a lot of greens, sprouts, olives, and red peppers :-)

He says something about olives being bitter and disgusting straight from the tree. They are usually cured in salt to draw out the bitterness and this is the problem. If you can get nice organic non-salt cured olives they are fine if you enjoy them. They will count towards your 'overt fat' so don't eat too many!!

Bananas are only really recommended because they are easy to obtain worldwide, and are high in calories. I've heard him say people could start off by eating only bananas for a couple days to get an idea of how many calories it takes to stay raw. But it's not necessary to go to that extreme.

Just eat lots of fruit, tons of greens, and a bit of healthy fat IF you want. It's not strict 811 everyday. You can be 70-15-15 one day and 90-5-5 the next or whatever you want, just average 811 for the year.

Also, if olives are bitter and disgusting straight off the tree, we would not eat them in nature (then it probably is not a food that is suitable for us) :)

Try to eat large portions (so that you don't get hungry too quick). If you get hungry too fast again, snack on more fruit or veggies (exept root veggies - they are hard to digest).

Eat fruit for breakfast and lunch, save fat for the last meal of the day (and in general, avoid combining it with fruit).

Ps. It's best to eat bananas when they are ripe (brown spots on) :)

I was with you on that transitioning away from gourmet. I started that way a couple years ago - but after I eliminated everything that wasn't truly raw, there wasn't much left that I could make from my recipe books plus I'm really busy living my life, not wanting to spend it planning and reading about it so I didn't have time to make a 6 day recipe. I got really disillusioned with the 'eat 100% raw and you'll feel wonderful' camp - while they were eating all sorts of cashews etc. I had settled into salads, smoothies, and green juices (whenever I was faithfully eating raw) on my own and in attempting to get to overcome infertility, I gravitated towards threads on 811 time and time again.

I'm waiting on my book too and I've been drinking lots of green smoothies (including savory ones with unsweet fruits) and plain fruits and vegetables. Day 3 was really rough - which I expected, it always is when I do any sort of cleanse - now I feel a lot better and I've noticed a dry face and that perhaps I don't do well with citrus fruit - just an observation I made once I cleaned out all the other allergenic crap I usually eat. I'm hungry but not really wanting to eat so I'm eagerly anticipating the book's arrival to figure out what to really eat. Also, it sounds worthwhile to sign up for one of those nutrition calculators and input your favorite fruits and veggies to occupy your time while you munch on grapes and wait.

Bananas seem to be high up the list, I have also read that root vegitables are particularly good, such as turnips, parsnips, carrots, rutabaga, daikon and celery root. Also a lot of useful information on raw food generally in the books referred to in the following site.
