I know of one just outside of Vancouver, BC. I just have a question regarding how you get the water out of those 18L glass bottles. I know some use a water dispense but those are usually made of plastic. Seems kind of hard to pour out of.
the 4 and 8 gallon jars are from home made wine shops, they are usually really thick glass and imported from Italy and such. The last 8 gallon I got was like $28. And the 1 gallon jars are from the organic apple cider & juice that I've bought! The siphon you can get from the wine supply stores too, I've got two stores pretty close to me here.
Where is the spring near Van? Could you give directions? I'll be in the area a couple times in late summer :)
That's cool that you'll be coming here. Like the post below it is also located at a headwater called Lynn headwaters regional park. You take hwy 1 to exit 19, lynn valley rd, go all the way to the end until you get to lynn headwaters regional park. The spring is located 0.8km or 0.5mi from the entrance to the park, it's very small and easy to miss. There is gravel road on the right where you can park. If you get to the overflow parking for the park you've gone too far. It's not a flowing spring, it just looks like a clear puddle with some rocks around it.If you can't find it you can always dip you bottle into the glacier water that is flowing down the mountain; it's good too! I was just up there for a hike today and filled up 3 5 gallon glass jugs and a bunch of smaller bottles. Let me know when you come up here. I'm sure there's some in Oregon and Washington. Do you know of the site findaspring.com. I just posted mine today but it could take a while to get posted. Where are you from? Where do you get your spring water? How long have you been doing this?
I know the site but the closest they have listed is in CA..
I'm from Calgary and been getting my water from a friends ranch that have their own flowing spring. (that would be so nice to have..)
I am not aware of any in Oregon or Washington. The best natural spring water is in Mt. Shasta, CA.
It is located in the Mt Shasta city park. I think it is the headwater for the Sacramento River.
The water comes out of the very top of the mountain. I'm not sure how it gets up there or where it comes from. It seems like magic. It is a continuous flow of water coming out of the mountain, and it is the best tasting water I've ever had.
Every time I drive over Mt. Shasta, I fill up all my water bottles, and bring home at least 5 gallons of water. There are always a bunch of people there filling up their water bottles.
Also, a few mile south of Mt. Shasta is this amazing hike, castle crags state park. It is incredible. When you get to the top, there is a trail that takes you to this hidden lake. There is a spot at the top where the water flows out of the rocks. It is pure, delicious, clean water. Again, I don't know how this water gets to the top of the mountain, it seems to flow uphill and defies gravity.
I've traveled all over Washington and Oregon and have not found any place like Shasta or Castle Crags.
gasp! I love cannon beach. I would definitely make a side trip there, maybe even a couple times!
Would you have any more specific directions?? Thanks =D
In Oregon, on the coast, by battlerock in Port Orford, there is a place amongst the boulders surrounding the beach that has naturally filtered water coming through. If you are there and ask the locals they should be able to point it out to you, if you cant see it. If your there early in the morning, ask around for a Lanni Rice (my partners grandpa), he is tall, and has glasses and long greyish black hair. He'll show you, plus want to smoke pot with you, if you are into that. It is a real small town, so everyone knows him, cause he's the guy with the special peanut butter cookies.....
