im not using shampoo and condioner for about 2 weeks already and im loving it...no chemicals over my head at all...i just use baking soda on the scalp every 2 weeks and apple cider vinegar or lemon juice everytime i wash my hair(twice a week) ...
how much of vinegar do you use? i once went on the experiment for a week. after a week my hair felt it had a shampoo. then i washed it with vinegar and i was stinking of vinegar all over the place. i hated it! my hair went dry!
i washed with baking soda. i felt i still needed a conditioner. my hair went dry.
am ashamed to admit i love experimenting with fun colors over my hair. yes, i know its bad and then am full of faults! i accept it! : p am just a girl who likes to have fun. so i do chemically inflict some kind of toture over my hair. my hair doesnt really mind. but i do it lesser and lesser as months go by!
i am back to using powder shampoo though consisting of amla-shikakai/soapnuts-hibiscus powder etc. its good. no chem it says and its a wonder. you can even make it on your own. its a bit of a hassle but soapnuts give you the foam. really clean hair!
do you ever oil yourh hair? what do you do to your hair for fun? or just let it be! i would rather let it be! and i would love that!
i also read this recommendation of a powder shampoo that you mix in semi warm water
dried oat powder in baking soda. anyone tried it?
well the first month the hair doesnt look that nice anyway but after that it looks so health and beautiful...i just use 1/4 of apple cider vinegar diluted in 1 and a half liter of water as conditioner, you can add also essential oils.
my hair is very curly so the first month i looked like a cave woman but who cares!!!!!!
yes my hair curls too!
yayy for you girl! and thanks!!! i sure used a whole lot of cider last time to get such a stink : p
yes i do use essential oils in bath, and as perfume sometimes. i can use them! i love them, glee! :)
That's what I use-the powdered amla/shikakai/aritha combo. Works really well. I oil my hair a couple of times a week. I have knee length hair, and if I went no poo, it would take forever for my natural oils to get to the ends! :)
Hey everybody! I'd love to try this. I have super thick, long, course, dry, chemically treated curly hair. It's ridiculously thirsty and so far the only natural product that quells it is large amounts of bio oil (a mix of natural fruit, nut and vitimin E oils). However, that seems to build up on my scalp - yuck! Anyone here using No - Poo with hair like mine??? Any tips?

Hi Jennifer,
my hair is similar to yours.
I have been no poo since June, last year.
My hair is in better condition than when I used poo, and this is without any conditioner.
I used to use loads of organic conditioner, when I was 'pooing
I have far less split ends and less dryness.
I was hesitant to go no poo because my hair is long, wavy and thick, but I gave it a go and am very happy with the results.
Plus the money I save goes on yummy fruit!
I was also worried that it may smell a bit yucky, but I have been told that it smells good.

I was at a red light. Same thing also happened to me when Rudy Guiliani crossed in front of my car. Hitting the gas did occur to me for a second or two.
