Give it to me Raw

Hi Guys, is it just me, or does other people have a goal thing happening at the beginning of the year, and then have a look at it, at the end of the year to see how it all went???

My 10 Goals for this year are:

1) Practice yoga 5 times a week...

2) Gain 6 kilos of healthy weight (I know what you are thinking)...

3) Meditate 2 hours a day, 1 hour in the morning, and 1 hour in the evening...

4) Study 4 of my university papers, 1 virtual community psychology, 2 virtual color psychology, 3 child psychology and mind and matter philosophy...

5) Keep a better communication with my family... a hard one, I live in Japan, and my family lives in New zealand... especially with my mum... if you know what I mean:-)

6) Try to be good at the doing the above actions...

7) Keep a better social networking with my friends who live in the UK...

8) Attend another 10 day vipassana meditation this March...

9) Attend Emma's Devotional seminars this April...

10) Have some time to myself...

So, here they are, what are yours???

I have to say that they are all hard... I be lucky to do 6 of them:-)

How about you guys???

These are not ordered by importance, just by my random thoughts...

1. Sell our condo in New York City (anyone want to live off 230 St. in the Bronx? -- great view of the Harlem River and Columbia U)
2. Buy a house close to work and/or buy land far from industry -- to build a sustainable getaway.
3. Master raw "cooking" -- so much so that we can easily have any friend or family over for meals.
4. Get rid of eczema and improve overall health and vitality.
5. Meet personal goals at work (launching new website and managing new staff), grad school (taking an additional 18 credits this calendar year), and with teaching gigs (yoga, spinning, ChiRunning).
6. Get back to competing in triathlons, dualthons, running, and cycling events.
7. Travel more...
8. Up my daily yoga practice to include 30 pranayam each morning, two 1.5-hour asana sessions per day, and 15 minutes meditation.
9. Spending more time with my beloved and our friends.
10. Time to dream, visualize next steps, and find more creative outlets.

Back to basics or to essentials it seems.

Land, family, natural living, exercise.

Thanks man.

Very inspiring.

Hike to bottom of Grand Canyon and camp-out in March for my birthday

Figure out all the moves in my Latin Dance mix excercise DVD

Spend more time walking the dogs at the kennel

Finally clean-out & organize my dorm room

Buy all new SMALLER sized pants

Drink less coffee & more water

Transition more into raw food

Write ( or at least Start) on my book about living at the canyon.

Get a promotion at work

I heard that our B-day is a very special day for spiritual development...tell me if you get enlightened on the top of the Grand Canyon?

Great gift to give yourself & # 5 is really funny. ;)

Thanks for sharing and plastering a great big smile on my face.

All the best!

1. Not let my own idealism get in the way of keeping the peace between me and my co-workers. Even though the lack of conscientiousness has bothered me in the past I recognize that we are human and we have our own sensibilities.
2. being more social anywhere I am
3. Eat raw foods majority of the time but sometimes I will eat cooked foods so I will feel balanced and happy in my own way.
4. Be grateful for what I have and take advantage of the opportunities that I have now.
5. take more risks and have completely new experiences.
6. Don't wait for the right moment to do what I want to do
7. no binging and no deprivation. Striving for a balance
8. embrace small goals that will prepare me for my own great accomplishments
9. Being more grounded in terms of what I can do in the present moment in relation to my interests and desires. (match my dreams and reality)
10. I have dreams that have stayed with me ever since I was a teenager. This is a fire within me that is dying because I listen to the cold words of society, family and family friends. Moral support is effective for creative growth. I know I don't have moral support but I want to rise above it and pursue my passion and create my own success. I might fall down a couple times but I am living MY life on MY terms. That is enough of letting my parents, teachers, society and others who claim they care try to stamp out the fire of my creativity. Creativity is my second life force other than my primary one that keeps me alive. This creativity keeps my soul, heart and mind alive.

To anyone who struggles with lack of support. Believe in yourself. No matter how many times people tell you that your dreams are not "realistic" or "not practical" at the end of the day who will live with it? You are the one who will have to live with a cousin who had a great dream and who achieved it by his own hard work and determination. You will have to live with people who tell you that you should go do something more worthwhile like computers or becoming a doctor. You will have to live with wasting your time and your life away at dead end jobs.
I know because I have lived it.
I think its better to try and try and try and fail then to never try at all. It is like hammering a nail you might get it on the first try but the second or third time you will get the nail in.
