Yep, I stick to the following basic non-mixing:
As far as fruits go, sub-acid fruits (or neutral fruits) are eaten with either acid fruits or sweet fruits. Acid fruits aren't eaten with sweet fruits. Melons are usually eaten on their own.
I don't mix protein and starch at any single meal. Nuts I generally eat on their own.
That's about it really. I'm mainly doing it due to different foods requiring different digestive enzymes to break them down - especially starches and proteins. The way I see it - if I eat a protein / starch I'd rather it were digested & assimilated effectively, with as little burden to my digestive system as possible.

Thank you for the respond Francois, you described the exact reason I do it this way, but only with fruits. I also separate different types of them, because of uniqueness of enzymes and their interplay with co-enzymes and vitamins.
What do you consider raw protein and starch foods? I only know what they mean by it in proper food combining method.
I tend to eat mono in the summer when the garden is providing large amounts of certain veggies at certain times. Then, I have no choice but to consume big piles of whatever is ready on a given day. Yeah, definitely more doable and natural in the summer for me.

I get on best when I don't mix foods too much, I eat a lot of fruit and when I mono it it's all great but as soon as I mix it up too much or eat it too close to other things, like it hasn't digested properly before I eat more I get digestion issues.
90% of my meals are mono fruit meals, and there are occasional simple salads. Nuts or seeds no more than 1/month when I make a special meal for others...

That's great Loren!
Are you doing mono-days? Last week I had tree days with one kind of fruit a day:
Friday: papaya only,
Saturday: grapes only,
Sunday: apples only.
Hi! I don't do mono-days on purpose, though I suppose it may happen every once in a while. I eat usually only eat twice/day, and usually am eating two different fruits each day; frankly, I've got so many delicious things here, I could happily eat 5 times/day -- though I probably wouldn't feel very good...

My aim is to eat one time a day Loren, but I am not there yet :) Mono days help me learn to concentrate on one thing, it is easier that I thought. I experimented with 1 time a day with 2-3 types of fruit, but even if I gave myself the whole 2 hours for the meal, I didn't feel quite perfect - maybe it was still too soon to eat them one after another.
Your stable experience with only two fruits a day is inspiring to me! Do you variate the days all the time? Some times I stay on the same set (of 3, seldom 2) for many days and feel satisfied.
I irrigate my nose with salt water after almost every shift. I use a little bit of salt with my toothpaste every now and again. My silver fillings are pretty stable and I've noticed a metallic taste in my mouth whenever I use salt so I don't. Clov...
I believe that the body can heal itself if given the support. I'm a nurse in a nursing home and I've seen the body cling to life no matter how much poison is thrown at it.
Sounds ridiculous to me. Anyone actually older and experiencing longevity there? I doubt it. I live out in the country in the general direction of God's fart zone and perhaps that's better than getting caught up in this sort of materialistic stuff...
hi honey,
we did an experiment in school with ear candles. we set up one with a real person, followed directions perfectly...set up another the same way but instead of putting it in someones ear we just held it against a pillow...both candles had...
they gossip about which teams are going to trade or sign star players. Most of it is bullshit. They just create rumors to sell papers / get hits. Still I eat it up.
Hi agree with Erin, everything she suggested is very similiar to wha ti have found.
I am also seeing an accupuncturist and realize that we actually need cooked foods in our diet to support the spleen.
Healing with whole foods is a great start..
