I'm intensely focused on remaining positive. Maybe it's a new year thing. Or maybe I'm just finally disgusted enough with the way I have easily absorbed the negativity around me and for some reason accepted it, by default, as normal.
Everyone: Please add anything you find to be encouraging. Ideas that keep you going. Silly sayings. Positive affirmations. Don't be shy!
For those ideas in your head that you find ridiculous and either ignore or deny. You know the ones. They have something to do with who you need to become. Let them emerge. It's ok and necessary to allow space in your consciousness to let them begin to take shape. Don't worry.... no one can hear you thinking them! Just begin to acknowledge them and don't judge them or try to immediately rationalize what they are or what they mean. Give them some attention now and have faith that they will clarify and guide you.
OMG telefunken I just had this idea last night that we should bless someone on this site....everyone can say something positive or honor someone on GITMR! I think I am gonna make a discussion.....but it seems we are on the same wave length! I hope you are blessed and you realize what a gift you have been given in Raw! Love and Light!
Thanks L&P, I have to be honest in that I'm not focused on spirituality at this time. The word blessed doesn't work for me but I completely welcome the intentions behind it! Please don't think I don't appreciate your intent...I do!
That being said, I still want to keep this discussion wide open to anything which encourages in any way. Spiritual is fine too (even if I'm not tuned in.......I know many are........I may be more aware someday....)
I think I am quite lucky as I am usually positive all the time...sometimes maybe too positive if there is such a thing?!
But I find that when I connect to nature that makes me smile..you know with the animals and so on...and I also have visions of me teaching yoga all the time...and yoga makes feel really healthy and happy......and just doing things i love to do like last night i started going to a sculpture class again.......even tho its in the middle of winter brrrr but it brings sunshine into my life ...last time i made my laughing Buddha and whilst i was making him i was smiling most of the time as you just need to look at him and he makes you smile!
if i connect too much for too long with anyone negative a i pull away.....i am more aware of this now than before ..
and i have other nice thoughts going on in my head & maybe some of them are they are fantasy he he ! (:
spirituality just means connecting to yourself ..being aware of your self which you are doing!? it doesnt mean you have to use blessed etc? So you are in tune with yourself..which is gr8t....how about uplifting music!? (:
Life is a journey, NOT a destination....stop being so hard on yourself. You have already returned to the garden, it is up to you to decide if you want to stay:) Remember truth is very very very easy, denial very very very complicated:)!!
Stay Warm
P.S. All the negative energy around is normal and to be receptive to it is even more normal, but just remember that you have the power and the knowledge to over come any negativity
Hm.. One thing I always ask myself before I allow myself to feel negative or upset is, "How much does this really matter?" Will it matter in a few hours? Tomorrow? A week? A month? A year? It puts things in perspective for me.
I've been doing this too. Trying to be more of a "3rd party observer" to a problem or negative feeling and realizing that it will pass and it's completely up to me if I wish to give energy to it. I might just watch it float away instead!
Very powerful to be able to insert some distance between the awareness / incident and the reaction.
yeah..if you are feeling grounded and relaxed it helps and is easier? but if you are stressed..aaargh! then its more difficult to not get into the re-actionsssss?(:
I hear ya! I'm describing the ideal....but I'm not always able to stop the negative emotional freight train if it's already up to speed! I think we have to develop these muscles so they become more automatic. Takes time and practice. And encouragement!
That sounds like fun.. There is a thing called double dutch where two girls hold two ropes and you have to jump them both at the same time.. maybe you could find a couple of girls to try this with you. It's pretty impressive when you see it..
