is it ok to add meat to a smoothie? i only need a small amount per day for building. i realised i was having too many cleansing foods and not enough building ones!
Cool, When I first tried to eat raw beef I did it for 2 weeks & thought it was crazy. So I stopped. After about a month later it felt like my body was craving for it.So I went back & it felt good to eat it raw. Every now & then I'll mix some herbs but I prefer the taste plain with no salt or seasonings.
raw meat is a total joke in comparison, that is really the only way to explain it.
Colostrum is an animal product that contains growth factors that rebuild muscle and every tissue in the body, and there is no other animal food that can compare to its muscle/tissue building, energizing, regenerating effects. Deer antler also has growth factors in it but it is a lot more expensive.
Meat doesn't even come close to what this stuff can do. and, no animals have to be slaughtered for colostrum, which I think is really important.
Your post comes off as a vegetarian scare tactic In order to promote their supplements. With the tone of "just take my word". You provided no explanation of personal experience or a valid comparison of why meat is a joke or raw meat vs Colostrum.
I'm not doubting the effectiveness of real raw Colostrum but in my opinion I doubt it's better than raw meat. The cons out weight the pros for Colostrum Powder to replace meat.
-expensive
-hard to get the real raw stuff, not the powdered stuff you linked
-lactose & the beliefs that humans shouldn't consume milk after a certain age.
-most likely the powder stuff was very highly process, possibly not even raw(pasteurized) & may contain anti caking fillers
-how is it made?
I wouldn't use it, but I'm not against others supplementing with it. If you're against consuming meats because of ethical reasons & decide to use Colostrum as a replacement. I can understand. But To say raw meat is a joke compared to Colostrum Powder, without anything to back up the comparison is an exaggeration.
I did explain why colostrum is better - because of the high amount of growth factors . If you've never heard of growth factors, than I can understand why you think raw meat is so much better. The growth factors in colostrum stimulate the body to be have more youth, and strength/vitality in a way that raw meat can't.
Growth factors literally cause a massive regeneration to occur in every tissue in the body. if that isn't powerful, than I don't know what is.
Also I don't view colostrum as a "supplement", I view it as a super food. It doesn't contain an fillers, I would never take something that had fillers, and I believe it is freeze dried. Also it is not expensive if you only use a small amount, which is enough to give you the effects that cause the "strength" that animal products give since it is so potent,
Everything I say here isn't 100% accurate, and I don't expect anyone to believe everything I write, I am simply sharing my experience and hope that some might try it to see if it works for you.
I am not bashing raw meat, I'm just letting people know about other options avaliable.
I also think having a mostly vegan - for me 95%, with a small amount of "raw" animal products such as colostrum or raw milk is the most ideal if you are trying to regenerate or heal the body.
One thing that I strongly believe though, is that raw animal products are healthier for the body than cooked vegetables. I really don't understand why so many people believe cooked vegetables are healthier. That never made sense to me.
Best powdered protein that I have found is SunWarrior. Raw vegan from brown rice. Kicks ass and you will see considerable gains if you are weight training. Google it, Mike Adams has a pretty informative vid on it:
well, i am on day 7 of meat smoothies and i am feeling amazing.
my body has adjusted, i guess, so im not feeling depressed. in fact i feel so happy because i have energy.
i think its largely due to the iron in the red meat, which i could not assimilate from leafy greens and seeds.
i will keep you posted...
i just had some goji berries and im feeling tired and anxious now.
maybe high GI fruit is not helpful, or i have to combine it correctly or something.
anyone solved this one?
i dont know where im going to get my calories from if im not eating much fruit. im not sure that high fat is the answer.
any thoughts?
You only options for calories are carbohydrate or fat, so choose wisely and based on how your body responds ;) . You can also get some calories from protein and alcohol, but these have many many problems in the body and you could never consume enough protein or alcohol to fuel your body without getting sick. Many raw foodists conclude that high fat is bad because they get their fats from nuts and seeds which can be difficult to digest and make people very tired and sluggish. Coconut, olive oil and animal fats are much easier to digest. Also, properly preparing your nuts and seeds by soaking/sprouting or making nut mylks helps make them easier to digest and give more energy.
If after giving high fat a fair try, and you conclude that it doesn't work for you, and sweet fruit also doesn't work for you, then you may have to let go of some of the raw dogma and eat cooked grains. Properly prepared, they really aren't so bad as many say, there are some very healthy grain based cultures in the world. Or perhaps you can't deal with fat well because you have an impaired liver, in which case you would work on treating the underlying cause.
I'm really thriving off of high fat, moderate carbs and low protein. When I put my daily food intake into fitday I average 60% fat, 15% protein and 25% carbs to give you some idea of what is working for my body. BUT everyone is different so eat based on what makes you feel good. You seem to be very tuned in to how your body responds to food, which is great!
thanks, i might consider cooked quinoa and vegetables, instead of high fruit, for carbohydrates.
ive heard that you either do high fat or high fruit, but a combination of the 2 doesnt work.
im going to have to try low GI fruits for a while, although i love bananas, mangos and all the sweet fruits.
maybe sweet fruits with extra fibre, like ground flax could work.
Hi Dave,
Maybe you should buy one lol, I couldnt live without my juicer (literally) if you want one-Dan has got some links on his youtube page it you wanna buy one, or the guy in this video, has a great one but he's in the UK
I lost my ear candling virginity last week, lol. My friend and I didn't have any problems, just really relaxing. So do it with a friend so someone can watch the flame. have fun :)
I've met some hit chix on GITMR. Not satisfying in the least. Just the opposite. Most communication is self-defeating, accomplishes nothing. I would love it if people would leave me alone when I'm out and about. Anybody else?
