Give it to me Raw

Hi everyone!

I'm currently high green (mostly fresh raw greens, with minimal sugar) and feeling great. If any of you have any recommendations for green smoothie recipes that use little to no fruit, I'd love to hear them! Thank you all so much!

A few tablespoons hemp powder
any kind of nut milk (optional)
1-2 handful greens (spinach is the mildest, in my opinion)
1 tablespoon coconut oil (this is key for deliciousness)
stevia to taste
pinch of cinnamon
teaspoon vanilla
any greens you want to experiment with too
some ice cubes

Vitamix it and enjoy!

What do you do for blood sugar and to feed your glycogen reserves if you eat no sweet fruits?
I dont understand where would the carbohydrates come from to provide the glucose essential for bodily function if we do not eat fruits, grains, honey, chocolates.

gluconeogenesis...converting fats/proteins to usable glycogen. it's an extremely costly process in terms of energy your body uses but it works. i prefer barhi dates and atulfo mangos myself

Carb deficient eating will put the body in a state of ketosis. This is ok if your fasting and having 24hrs of bed rest and not have to use brain power but for people that live everday lifestyle, I think running on ketones is extremely dangerous.

I'm pretty sure they're getting SOME carbs in the form of veggies. Surely running at a deficit but not to the point of ketosis...having even a few grams of carbs a day can easily throw you out of ketosis. Is it optimal? no. but let's not jump to conclusions of an atkin's-esque shade.

I am eating some fruit, just minimal amounts. And I'm not 100% raw so I do eat cooked beans (including chickpeas) and brown rice, as well as some sprouted tofu for carbs and protein. The majority of my diet (75-90%) is raw green vegetables. I usually eat a couple of pieces of fruit (ie an apple, a banana, etc.) a day. That's what I feel works best for me at this point.

Thank you,
Eden

Read 'Thrive diet' by Brendan Brazier. Its "high raw" for people that dont want to eat 100% raw. He is champion ironman.

Vegetables are high in carbs.

Good smoothies can be made with tomato, cucumber, red bell pepper, stevia, leafy greens, lemon juice, raw carob powder, cinnamon, sea veggies, etc...

You can make blended raw soups or pates with those ingredients plus veggies.

You can use low glycemic fruits such as berries.

The Rainbow Green food chart is located at

The Rainbow Green program supplies plenty of carbs.
