How are they getting away with animal liberations in broad daylight?! It's like England in the 70's. I'm jealous. I am going to Asia next year, Id love to go visit them and save some critters! This is great, thanx for posting!

I guess Someone is looking out for them, I mean these guys have got some serious good Karma going on haven't they. Which could be like an invisibility jacket ;)

You can just buy animals at the pet shop and release them! No need to go so far to do that =]. I used to release frogs from Viet Hoa ( big asian market) at a park ( 20 min. away). Releasing frogs or animals have many benefits. Not only does it swift away the negativity and bring in the good, but in the long run one will develop an immeasurable compassionate character. My group and I stopped releasing frogs because the market now needs a license to sell them! so they just stopped selling them! our wish came true! We would buy around 400 dollars worth of frogs every week. We have a very dedicated group!

Now that the meditation center/temple is opened, we release crickets ( 30,000 a week...$ 20 a box..) right behind the center. The Thai monk chants before we liberate the eager crickets =]. I enjoy going every Sunday to do this. If one is somewhat sensitive, he/she will notice an unexplainable feeling of peace and lighfulness afterwards! The idea behind releasing crickets is that since many of us are vegetarians..we do not promote killing of the bigger animals..however, the small insects still stuffer from our daily tasks..mowing the lawn, driving...etc..

One funny, interesting thing is that it doesn't matter how bad the weather is..example..hard rain..things will clear up just before we release them! amazinggg.

yes, this idea of purchasing the animals occurred to me, after I thought about it. This is great if your main objective is to save the animal lives, but if your objective is to save animal lives, plus cause a economic loss to the animal torture company, taking is a better option it seems. I understand that this would be against the Buddhist ethic of not stealing what does not belong to you, but I have thought about that for awhile and always walk away think, that if we could tell the Buddhist teachers of the past, what has happened now with animal industry that we could come to a consensus that it was not technically stealing, because animals are not property in the eyes of god, goddess, mother nature etc, so taking them and liberating them, it isn't stealing just re appropriating. Anyway, just my kookie thoughts.

Hi Lizz! interesting thoughts. Of course, we never expected for them to stop selling the frogs. It was quite a surprised, but not a bad one either. Less frogs are now being killed because of it. Whatever that causes harm to others will ultimately not last.

Lee, thank you so much for this. I'm going to release crickets from the local pet shop, and anything else I can find. I can't think of anything else I can release. The crickets will be grateful, they don't want to be reptile food. I want to help them fulfil their birth right of freedom.
Thanks Lee, you and your Heart, as ever, overflowing with love and compassion.
