Give it to me Raw

Does anyone on here lift weights at all? I've always lifted weights and I could lift a decent amount for long periods of time before going raw but now I'm having a little trouble. Either I'm losing strength really quick(don't think so) or I just don't have the energy(probably). I mean I seem to have lots of mental focus and enough energy to stay awake for hours now but as soon as I go to lift it all goes away! Can anyone recommend some raw foods for lifting, like pre-workout meals or anything? I guess I could be too low on my calories as well because I am losing weight at a ridiculous rate. Thanks
-Mike

Oh yeah, that's a high fruit version of the raw diet right? I think I may be following that already not really sure. I'll look into it, thanks.

From my experience I'd say you are losing muscle and strength, you will not gain any of it back. Over and over I kept thinking that I could not lose any more weight, it would stablize... then all of a sudden my pants won't stay up. This has gone on for 5 or 6 years. Now I look anorexic, have no strength, of course no girl friend. My advice to you is to stop the carnage to your body right now, eat whatever you have to, save your muscle mass. Or you might end up like me, skinny, weak, alone...but I do have time to work out....which produces nothing. Don't let these people talk you into ruining your body.

I like to take maca, and hemp protein powder as well as avocados, coconut meat, bee pollen, and sun warrior protein has been working great for me. I workout and lift weights 6 days a week and have been lifting the most I have ever been able to recently. Hope that helps. :)

I found grape juice and bananas were great preworkout. You want fruits that are high glucose / fructose as they don't have to be broken down and can turn directly into energy. Otherwise, most fruit juices are good. If you are not getting enough calories, try spreading the meals out a bit. You're not going to get 13 bananas in your stomach in one meal.

If you are still transitioning and adjusting, you might either want to go back to where you're comfortable (i.e. a little cooked) or wait until you are stable on raw . . . hard enough to adjust to raw without adding other stress . . .

Cool thanks for the advice. I guess I'll just have shovel more food in..lol. I'm actually quite comfortable with this already. I guess my body is still busy cleaning up. I think I'll just start working on getting more calories in instead of lifting, and once I accomplish that I'll go back to lifting.

Check out Tony Horton, he has a raw chef and works out tremendously. This might be the motivation you need.

"You're not going to get 13 bananas in your stomach in one meal."

Not necessarily true :).

You can? How long have you been raw?

My experience is that it takes some time for someone's stomach to stretch to that proportion . . .

I've only been raw for about 12 days. I feel completely normal now, it didn't take long at all. I don't feel as if I'm detoxing in any way, I feel amazing. I can't help but smile half the time... it's a great feeling.

I just realized you weren't talking to me...lol. I was on a cacao smoothie buzz when I wrote that stuff.

I can get up to 24 in a meal, and sometimes go through a kg of lettuce :P as my dinner meal.

He's still my hero, but I heard the guy was tyrannical and cruel to his family and co-workers. Marlon Brando talked about what a douchebag he was in his book; still though, comic genius.

OK, I guess to me getting rid of anger and envy and fear in ones self before being able to externalize it on a corporate scale just seems common sense as opposed to religious. Is that really religious? Or is it just that he is a Yogi addressing th...

Rome was AWESOME, another fantastic HBO series. True Blood is also pretty cool, but I read the books so it's bittersweet for me. Did anyone else catch Carnivale? That was really well done as well.
