Give it to me Raw

Hello All,

I'm new to this site. and looking forward to exploring together. I recently bought "Kelp Granules" from Whole Foods, its a raw supplement, like a salt. Does anyone know amounts of kelp we should get a day? In 1/4 tsp there is 0.75 gram. Any ideas or wisdom to share? I'm trying to re-mineralize my teeth and bones after eating too much fruit.

Everyone will have different opinions on how much to consume. Some will call it poison too!

I think you should use it sparingly but also make sure you are getting copious amounts of greens into your diet. High quality dark greens, grown in good soils, will provide readily assimilable minerals.

Make sure vitamin D and other bone assisting nutrients are there too! Calcium needs co-factors to become incorporated into bone. Good magnesium/potassium balance plus Vit D and probably some other things I'm forgetting too!

Thank you. What do you mean when you say "calcium needs co-factors to become incorporated into bone? What would they be? I think we should eat fat with our greens to help absorption? I thinking I might be making this a bit more complicated then it is. I just want strong bones:) Thanks again for the information, I do really appreciate it.

I'm not the best person to ask for details about this, but I think if you poke around on google and talk to a few people here, you'll get a good feel for the issue of building strong bones and teeth. Don't rely on only kelp or only calcium, etc. Get a good balance of nutrition from foods and supplements. I wish I could be more specific. Also, weight bearing exercise is important for bone health. I'm in a hurry at the moment, sorry. You may want to post a new topic which specifically asks for guidance with teeth and bones too!

greens oh yes Tele,i so agree greens are a must for best health...i made an awesome green smoothie today
kale
young coconut water and jelly,around 7 big leaves of kale,one banana and 1 scoop protein powder,extra water so yum..first time that kale hasnt given me heartburn and reflux,now theres progress,last time i ate it was around 3 years ago and the indigestion pain was awful...!

isn't strong digestion a great thing?! My green smoothies are so ridiculously green now...well, it's ridiculous!

I pack the Vita-Mix completely with kale or pea greens or romaine or whatever...add enough RO water to spin it quickly to green liquid, then all all the other goodies. Then the magic: E3 Live and Vitamineral Green and Liquid Trace Minerals. ohhhhhhhh.......Nothing like starting the day with nutrient density!

Thank you all for the info. I do eat tons of greens, I just love them! I guess I just have to give myself time after eating soooo much fruit, that way just isn't for me. Thanks again.

give yourself time,yes..if you are coming off high fruits to lower fruit intake give yourself at least a week or two to adapt and find your feet,i felt pretty meh for a week,until i found other ways of getting in more nourishing fuel for my body .x

I add ConcenTrace, Trace Mineral Drops (it's a liquid) to all my drinking water and smoothies. The manufacturer is Trace Minerals Research. A little goes a long way with this product, since I add only 8 drops per glass of water and about 12 to 15 drops per smoothie batch.
