Give it to me Raw

In other words...

to always try to be raw... to always go and buy raw food... to see cooked food and think how you can't eat it...

is raw a self-motivating process?

or is there always a sense of self-restriction?

you know if your a pothead, there isn't much holding you back if you see some good pot.

but if your raw, and you see a good meal of something cooked... do you just not want it? or do you have to use a lot of self-restriction?

i remember when i was raw before for awhile, out of a garden... I remember sitting down to a cooked meal and i just didn't think it was actually food... it felt weird eating it..

but in the grand scheme of it all...
does it really matter? would it be better to NEVER think about food..to just eat WHAT we want, whenever we want... and just get good vibes from people, having fun, going for a run?

like if i woke up one morning and just wanted to go for a run...so i grabbed a bowl of cereal and took off... and had a great run in the sun...

but if i was raw, and i had no raw food... ? then i would have to go to the store, buy the food... going down the isle...out of the corner of my eye see some bread, or whatever... and have to say "bad david"?

i just want to do what i want. I want to do raw only if its truly something I want to do. Because if its not a self-motivating process, what is the point. I'm not going to live my life in self-restriction just to be some beacon of light. I want to live my life with ease...

I want to do a week of monomealing fruit (per meal) with greens or green smoothies. I want to try it out... to "see"... but if after that week I still want to eat something cooked, and afterwards I don't feel like its a big deal...then I just don't know about raw anymore :(

It's been extremely simple for me to be raw and I have no interest or desire for other food. There's too much delicious raw food that I have enough of a time not bingeing on raw without worrying about unhealthy food. You need to have plenty of raw options to make it work so you never feel deprived.

Using my Ex-calibur dehydrator is my ticket to eating raw. I know a lot of purists are down on that. Technicality. If it wasn't for that tool, I know what I'd be up to!

I AM A NON-CATEGORICAL EATER.
One thing I am thankful to be aware of is the difference between desiring to do something for a spiritual, deeper reason, to become a better receptor for the divinity of waves and electromagnetic frequencies that abound, and doing something that serves and perpetuates the ego on an obviously more superficial existence cloaked in self-righteousness.
I believe we all are pursuing raw food in whatever cycles and quantities, durations and trials on our individual paths out of pursuit of a higher resonance and that's why we follow this bliss or continue to seek it from our various personal stages and transitions. I wish to comment though, on a personal level, when I was an adolescent and first went vegan, I was simultaneously exploring and over indulging in philosophies of the East and therefore developed a perspective on the dualism of an ego that tries to identify itself from the 'other' which in this case could be SAD eaters, or our own demonized selves of sad eaters. It is important not to enhance the ego's attempt at identity and definition through the wording and trappings of what are otherwise potentially spiritually profound decisions. I didn't want to strengthen my ego by becoming so self categorical and labelled in any habitual patterns including eating. So when people would ask if I was a vegetarian or a vegan or want to engage, often negatively, in the typical dialogue of the uninformed, I simply respond that I am a non categorical eater and eat what I please, if someone continues to inquire I might divulge that as such I haven't eaten meat in 12 years, or I typically don't eat cooked food, but I've never felt that I need to justify my position to anyone, and most importantly, not to myself.
It's crucial not to self-categorize and I believe this may help also in the mental and emotional afflictions that have been mentioned in this thread; how much of the content of mental struggle and negative patterns pertain to labelling and it's interaction with the ego? Is it struggling to be something or not be something instead of just being? Are a portion of our raw struggles along this wondrous path really conflicts of internal dualism as we exorcise past or flawed 'selves'?
Don't limit yourselves. In a world in which we are asked to continually define ourselves in profile worthy, avatar accompanying, 140 clever characters, breathe deeply and remember that we are a multitude of complexity and simplicity in unison. If you are alive with Presence, you are not a raw foodist because that engages a history and a future, you are simply a person who is interacting, in the now, with lively food, with higher energy. Why try to encapsulate that in personal declaritive statements. Just be. Remember that this moment, this now is absolutely ideal and for whatever tribulations, confusion, or joy you are feeling, or food you are eating, it is truly the lesson you need to be experiencing right now and is therefore perfect in its Presence, so be with it, and be light, in all forms of the word.

Do what you want, nobody is forcing you to eat raw.

It's worth it to me.

Dogma is for those that not aware :)

No one can force anyone. Most peoples own dogma & fear become their undoing. :)
