I've been a 90% raw foodist for 5 months now and I've lost about 45 pounds total. I'm really gaining health except in 1 area which is honestly worse then when I first went raw. I have a chronic (3.5 year) case of swollen infected chest cartilage on my sternum. It took me awhile to figure out why my chest was getting worse while the rest of me was getting better. It's simply that my chest is not structurally sound. When i pick up things I injure my chest... this can be things as small as an apple or a glass of juice. Just the act of preparing my raw foods is what takes me from feeling good in the morning to being in pain by bed time.
injury = infection flare up... I can pick up really heavy things if i really want to but it would have me rolling around in pain in bed for a week while my body fights the infection. T_T
I am not going to give up on raw foods, I believe in it but how can I continue to do this when I have no support in real life and the nearest raw anything is 150 miles from me? I've looked into restrunts nearby and the bulk of them are mexican restrunts which seriously lack anything raw. The closest I've found to raw is serlion stockade which has a megar salad bar in which I can make a meal of but not a balanced one, plus... so many cooked foods around is still a bit too big of a temptation for me! T_T
So I guess my question really is "How can I eat raw without hurting myself?"
I'm so sorry to hear of your condition, it seems you are in a delicate situation. :( Hugs to you.
I don't really have anything helpful to say, except that you need to take it easy and at your own pace.
Is there anyone who could help you with your food prep? Can you eat more simple foods with less preparation effort so that you don't stress yourself too much.
I hope you find a solution that suits you. :) Take care deary!
N each person is unique and different things will make them feel better.
So how do you discover what is best to you----
From the book "How Green Smoothies Saved My Life"
"UNDERSTANDING OUR TRUE WORK
We do not need to “work on” our problems or any
unwanted physical condition. We get all of our results
through our alignment of thought. It is not an action
journey that we need to take; it is the emotional journey
of feeling good that is our work. This is one of my
favorite Abraham-Hicks teachings. All you need to do is
feel good and you will be guided to the perfect action.
This action will feel like the perfect next step and lead to
things you really want. It really is that easy, and once
you get it, you are going to love it. I have practiced this
alignment of thought for over a decade and the results
are too incredible to describe. You simply have to
experience it for yourself. For example, if you are not
feeling your best, it is not your job to go out and find the
perfect medicines, foods, professionals and so on to heal
yourself. Your job is to look for things to feel good
about. It really is that simple. Then, you will be guided to
the perfect action or just start feeling better.
if you try this consistently ove time you will be led to the perfect solutions for you

So are you saying you drive down the street and see a Robin, and say, Oh wow, what a beautiful Robin! ? Is that what you mean by finding things to feel good about?
Hi N! Do you have a dehydrator? I made enough stuff to eat for a week yesterday in a couple hours- but yeah I have a dehydrator. Some things go bad on me so I was trying to use things up before that happened.
What kind of stuff do you like to eat?
Because of your infection I would recommend pumpkin milk\soup or pumpkin seed crackers because the zinc can help you fight infection. Raw garlic cloves in marinara or brazil nut cheese and miso soup with shitaki mushrooms.
Olive leaf as a supplement goes back as far as the Egyptians in being antiviral. I am taking that right now and if I didn't I think I would be full - blown going to the emergency room.
Thyme is another curing herb that would be great to put in soup or flax crackers.
Have you tried caprilic acid? It is made from grapefruit seeds- it is good at killing a lot of funguses etc.
Sorry you're not feeling too hot. I've read that it's quite common for health challenges to get worse before they get better. We heal old health challenges later than recent ones, too: in reverse order. Or perhaps this is occurring because you are losing muscle tissue putting more pressure on the cartilage? Maybe you could go on a juice feasting retreat holiday, so they make your juice for you, and your body has all that energy saved from digestion to help heal your chest :) Or maybe this isn't in your price range. Perhaps you could do your own juicing or someone could make you juices at home?
you sound so delicate.i am sorry that you are in such a state...think strong thoughts though, thinking positively (yes i know you willhave heard it a 1000 times before)makes such a difference to how you feel, act and heal...
sleep, and sleep and sleep some more, can you get outside in the sunshine as much as you can?do you dry skin brush, are you gently massaging healing oils into your body every day after you bathe/shower? can you walk a little in the fresh air?
what are you eating?what environment are you living in?are you juicing, having green smoothies eating lots of lovely fruits...what is the part you are eating that isnt raw?
tell us more,so we can best help you,if possible?xo
Damn. Four days ago, I upped my dose from a few teaspoons each WEEK of MSM powder to a couple of tablespoons each DAY. Monday I noticed I was a quite irritable at work, impatient, and in a general daze. Yesterday, I felt the same way at work and t...
I was wondering... if the whole reality is now changed... from before Kirk launched...
Would that mean that the next series they will bring out is the original Kirk, but in this altered reality...?
Were the Hobbits raw vegan? Does the Death Star look like a honeydew melon to you? Have you ever played Halo or WoW while juice feasting? Would Superman be even stronger if he got monthly colonics? Discuss all these questions and more right here.

In NYC, petite models are pretty hard to book, because there are so few! I know one, Miss Asian America and she's constantly busy doing commercials!
Shorties are goodies lol
That is so true, its very funny and Miss J wears the most random things every week. This last season Tyra "revolutionized" the industry by putting short girls on the show LOL
