My mother had a green thumb!, which meant that there were lots of plants and trees in our home. She turned our living room nto a forest and bought some finches and let them fly around freely. What a great fantasy to grow up in!
I personally luv! daffodilles, when I was young, we would clean our rooms and then mother put a daffodille in a small juice glass and put it on our windowsills, the perfume filled the air!

Here's a tree I drive by on the road to my cabin. It's a magnificent Big Leaf Maple in fall color from last October. It's out in the middle of a pasture so it has been protected from forest fire and fertilized by the cows in exchange for summer shade. It must be the record biggest specimen or close. I've been making a series of snapshots of it during the seasons. This morning it was snowing and raining on it as I drove by, but the bull was out in the pasture with his harem nearby. Not a good time to trespass!
In a couple of weeks the flowering trees will be doing their thing. A wild plum I saw last week was starting to pop, then cold wet weather returned. The indomitable daffodils don't care, they'll bloom in the snow as long as the temps don't drop into the mid 20's.
Uti~I luv hearing the stories behind these pic's! I luv trees. My re-coup time, from my siezures means that I'm bedridden, and I choose a room where I can watch the trees and being an artist, I see faces and forms that I sketch and inspires my art...~

When I was bed bound last March I spent my days watching the peach trees in the orchard outside my window bloom. That connection was a big part of my healing.

oooh great question!
I'd either be a sunflower coz I love the way they move their heads as the sun makes it's daily journey, or we make our daily journey round the sun - whatever!
Or I'd be a certain type of lily, I don't know what it's called but it's pollen is transported by one type of beetle. This beetle lands in the middle of the lilly on only one day of the year, every year. At this time the lilly puts out a chemical that is totally intoxicating to the beetle, it lands in it and rolls around in ecstasy and then goes on to the next one, carrying the pollen and then rolling around in that one, pollenating it and so on until it probably staggers off to have a bit of a rest! Maybe I;d rather be the beetle than the lilly!!
Hey Zoe!~what a way to spend the day! lol...totally mind blowing info coming in on this disussion....thank you all so much! (hugz!!!!!!)
