That word supposed.... Thats what i hate. It's not the person who supposes. Supposed by whom i always ask? I know what you mean. It's something they're supposed to be embarrassed about. It's not supposed upon. It's learned and perpetuated.

right, then I'll say it.
I was in a relationship where we didn't have sex for a year - she was messed in the head about sex - I was patient, VERY patient, helping her without pushing, the whole time.
I loved her, I cared for her (& yes, very much wanted to have sex with her, but wasn't going to push it until she was ready), I stayed with her. In the end, after a year like that, she broke it off, not me.

that sounds pretty horrible. that's the thing- it's like some people want a person who is going to be like a porn star in the bedroom and if you're not they blame "the problem" on you. That is juat so ridiculous- there has to be more than that out there.
So I guess people have to be involved in some kind of esoteric yoga or kundalini or something to feel like they can connect with someone on a soul mate kind of level- or even just transcendent love.
I don't mean to sound harsh against guys I just haven't heard anything that has really impressed me coming from them or this discussion. And if we don't get some things out in the open how can we break down these walls of fear of intimacy or whatever it is?

I guess its about not pulling the rug out from underneath someone and ruining everything. It's like turning a light on or off with some people or "most" men. I just want to know why it is so hard for guys to act like they like or love someone other than when it comes down to sex.
It's about open communication and expectation and the prevalence of this "love" lie that is so common.
I am just trying to understand this that's all.

As i said before in this discussion. I'm no longer interested in having sex again, until it's for reproducing. So that being said, i might not be the one to ask this question. Or i might be a great one to ask this question. I'll answer it and let you decide. When you say love lie, i'm going to assume you're refering to the way we use love as a filler word. Personally I feel that love is uncommunicable, its only something we can radiate. When two people attracted to eachother, not just physically or sexually, (i'll call it spiritual attraction) can both harness the power to radiate their own love, not just towards eachother, but in all directions then i call that true love between two people. It has nothing to do with some certain moment when you realize you love someone. In my opinion, most of the people out there that will be married forever and say they are in love with eachother are just saying that because it's what humans do. They go to school, have crushes, get a job, get married have 4 kids and fight every day... But it's normal to fight they say, everyone fights they say. The force of love can not be taught, only harnessed. Most guys are just horn dogs. And many women are too. Some get drunk and go to one persons apartment. Some go out and rape people. Some taught "morals" go on exactly 10 dates and then either get sex or they leave. The list goes on forever, there is no generalization of every person in this. When talking about love, or being in love, there is no difference. It's just word. The inexplainable feeling that the word embodies is just that... unexplainable.
