I love the 'L' Word.
I am a lesbian, out except for at work, but I do hope that straight potential GI2MR friends won't recoil from me for having put it out there*. Because contrary to what is said of homosexuals, we're not attracted to every member of our sex. So fear us not! :) Also, stereotypes are for music ("stereo types," I mean). I believe that gender constructs are for people who feel they need rules to make sense of the world, and so often those rules just don't hold. My best friend is a male, and I've had many friends of both genders, and I find that sexual and other characteristics vary greatly from person to person. I know plenty of straight girls who don't like the afterwards-cuddle, and who are strong, physically and mentally. Someday we'll all just see people as people, right?
*I would also, of course, like to locate the GI2MR LGBT community---is there one? I just want to know that I'm not the only gay member of this site! Thanks.

Very well said. I often run into too many "gun-toting, angry man-hating" lesbians who fall into this gender trap. I am glad that you are not of this particular ilk :-)
