Give it to me Raw

Did you go raw (and stay raw) your very first attempt? If so, what is the glue that held it all together for you?

Maybe you transitioned slowly?

Or did you become successful at achieving your goals on your 2nd, 3rd, or even 4th attempt. If this is the case, how long have you been raw this time and does it feel like it's really going to be the one to stick?

If it took you a few tries before getting it right...what finally did it for you?

What changes in your life (phsyical, mental, spiritual) do you love most about eating raw?

Do you think this girl (me) asks too many questions?? :) <3 :) <3

when i began raw, it was all so exciting and revitalizing that the succes is not about achieving goals so much. It had more to do with finding connection with body and soul.together with weight loss around places where it wasn't going before.
what took me of the raw path was most of the time connected with mental and emotional transformation.

every time it was a discovery that i just did not LIKE the cooked stuff anymore.

things that were my favorite foods -cookies for example- were suddenly dry tasty too sweet and unnatural tasting so i'd go making the raw version :-)

i love it that life opens op a whole new window of choices and perspectives!

love

I stuck with around 90%(calorically) raw the first 9 months(started 2.5 years ago) became "tastarian" during culinary school, tasting chicken, bacon, breads, etc. After graduating, went 100% not tasting a thing for another 8 months, went through some stressful business times this spring/started eating about 10-15% cooked for about 2.5-3 months now it's been about 4 months again and it feels like I've come too far in healing and learning from backsliding to ever turn back.
#1 benefit is healing from endometriosis, asthma, ED, major depression and celiac. Still working out a few remaining health struggles.
Also, living on a totally other subtle plane of existence, as if in a higher-spin state. Lush juicy food helps keep me there. Those are my two main reasons for not straying.
Good questions, looking forward to reading others' answers:-)

6 years ago,i started eating raw foods...i transitioned to all raw from all cooked within a 4-6 week period...it was easy bc almost immediatley i felt more well alive, nourished and i knew this was right...4 years all raw 100%...then i had a breakdown emotionally...i went to Thailand,i got sick over there from the water,i was 80 10 10 at the time and had been feeling great...i got a parasite in my gut(didnt know this until almost 2 months ago)and i went to high raw, meaning i ate cooked food at dinner time for 6 months,i thought suddenly raw wasnt working anymore,i felt so crap...i did silly things...i went back to all raw high fruit(not technically 811 cos i was still juicing) for 12 months, struggled with constant inflammation in my bowel again and feeling up and down emotionally and in my health,it was horrid....2 months ago went to a naturopath and started on chinese herbs to help kill the parasite and to address deficiencies, and rid my body of the candida~i have changed to lower fruit and higher greens and moderate raw fats, added in some protein powder for extra support, and bingo i feel like a new woman....

so out of 6 years of raw foods,i have eaten 100% raw vegan for 5 and half years....i am home again, there is no option for me,other than raw foods, nothing makes me feel so alive so well and so vibrant...i can vouch for it 100%...

I've been about 90% raw for about a year the I read Green for life by Victoria Boutenko and it changed my life. I really started to crave raw foods more then cooked. The more raw foods I eat the less I wanted the cooked foods. I had no desire to see candy anymore... it didn't ever look like really food to me.

I don't think it was really that hard to make the leap from 90% to 100%, but the leap from 0% to 90% took almost an entire year. I really need to hear why it was so good for you. I added new foods one at a time.

I've lost 30 lbs since going raw and I feel better then ever!

great progress Tracy, this is awesome..exactly the more raw you eat the less you even want to look at let alone eat cooked foods...its not the speed of the journey its the direction :)

well last winter i was around 80% raw for a few months and then i decided to try a raw challange and go 100% for 30 days..and then onwards obviously. I failed after 12 days. I just couldnt do it. I was eating awfully and feeling worse.

I stopped eating raw all summer and then this winter my body screamed 'GO RAW!!'
so i did. I went straight to 100% raw, and that was over a month ago and i am still 100% raw and completly loving it. i will forever be 100% raw!

I think my body was finally ready for it, and mentally, i was ready to give up the cooked food, which i had previously put on a pedistool.
100% is easier than part raw part cooked, because when you still eat cooked, you are rewarding yourself with the cooked food. well i did anyway, which i think is why i couldnt give it up.

and no, you can never ask too many questions! x

<3 RAW LOVE! <3

Went raw the first time for 5 months and have spent almost 3 more years trying to get back there. I've had some nice 50-day stretches, but can't stay there. No real cravings for crap, just bad habits.
I DO love that raw led me from beating up my body running to yoga. I am a more mindful eater after 90 minutes of asanas.
It's always an evolution for me, a seemingly unattainable goal mostly because I have not put it first in my life.

Go Germany! I'm no longer working with The LifeCo & Saf in Muc, or organising events, workshops & talks in Muc, as I am abroad. I still consult clients & can provide your fave superfoods. My RawCacaoLove chocolate can be ordered through me directly.

my magic bullet burnt out, it was good for travelling while I had it though. Can you get a second hand blender? The cheaper ones I have used don't chop up the greens as well. Try to get something with a higher wattage, like 1000watt.
