or how do you keep yourself from eating late at night? I work night shifts and get off work around midnight. It's so hard not to come home and binge when I've been working for 7 hours straight. I eat before my shift starts, but i still get hungry during my shift. No breaks, either :/
aside from late night bingeing, I feel like I have no limits when it comes to food quantity. I'm hungry and then I eat and before I know it, I've over-eaten and my tummy is all bloated and uncomfortable and all I want to do is lay down.
i've ben raw for a year. I lost 5 lbs over the course of my raw journey and now I've gained it back + 5 more. I blame my work schedule because it's hard to eat sometimes at 4 pm (too early for dinner, too late for lunch) and i can't really eat during my shift because I work in the food industry and I don't get a break because I'm the only one in the deli at night.
there are a few things to try...
you need to address both the physical and psychological components of this.
is there a reason you are overeating? stress related? we often try to fill ourselves (physically) with food when we really just want to be "filled" by something else (emotional, metaphysical, etc)... are you lonely, upset?
also, how much are you working out? is your job physically demanding? maybe your mind isn't letting your body have as much food as it truly needs.
go for nutrient dense, easily digestible food if gas is a problem. you could also try food combining. i find bringing a smoothie and a bag of apples to work helps get me through the hunger pangs. i never go through the bag, but just knowing that i Have 10 apples if i need them is nice.
if you're truly hungry, then let yourself eat, girl! and eat the best food there is! fresh fruit and veggies! but if you're just "stuffing" yourself to fill a void, well... you know what to do. it's hard to address these emotional issues, especially when they're tied up with food.
aaaalso, i find probiotics to be an awesome help when it comes to taming my sensitive tummy.

Keep a handful of seeds or nuts in your pocket? After a long shift it's very difficult to resist the urge to eat but you don't want to raise your blood sugar too much before going to bed. You need to get yourself relaxed; why not try having bath with a nice warm nut milk or herbal tea?
I am addressing overeating now also. On 811 I could easily eat a papaya the size of my head or an entire watermelon for breakfast. Now I'm incorporating other things into my diet I am still able to consume 4 or 5 peaches at a time, which can't be great for my blood sugar. Once you've been on high fruit, it's very difficult to alter your ways!
but its possible Lady, once you start getting good results with your new way of eating, its a breeze...i have to slap myself round the head now and then, when i start hyperventilating about my fat intake ha ha xo
I had a problem with raw food when I would eat more fat. now that i'm doing 811, I feel like I have more control over what I'm eating and having less cravings. but we'll see how it works for me long term!
I try to stay in a good place mentally
overeating is a way to try to feel better
it is the alignment we are really wanting
meditation is great
and when I do over eat I just say Whoops ---silly me and move forward
