This decreased for me *significantly* upon adopting a high-raw lifestyle a few years back. But, I still got the occasional bug. Not sure if there's a correlation yet between an all-raw lifestyle and no sickness, but I haven't experienced any down days since making that leap (4+ months ago). I *have* experienced a few times during that span during which I felt that my body was probably fighting something (e.g., slight sore throat, mild stuffiness, or a bit of achiness), but those have all been *very* minor so far. I was beginning to theorize that, on raw, you still pick up the same pathogens as everyone else, but that your jedi-strength immune system easily zaps them into oblivion. Time will tell...
I didn't have any cold or flu symptoms since going raw (a year and a half ago) until I left Ho Chi Minh City after being there two days. It was just detox from all the massive pollution there.
I use to get colds and flu all the time growing up on the high mucus, highly processed and cooked SAD diet. I've been in and out of rawfoodism now for about 9 years and I have only gotten sick once. When I was off it. I've also met Lou Corona who claims to have not gotten sick once in over thirty years. The whole time he's been raw. For some reason I believe him. I've heard a couple other people that claim to have gone that long also. Awesome to think about.
i was 100% raw for about two and a half years and never got sick... no headaches, fevers, soar throats, muscle aches, coughing, nothing.
i went back to eating some vegan cooked foods for the first time after those 2 1/2 years (did this for about eight months) and i got a very bad case of the flu for a week... i actually passed it on to two other family members.
yeah I was eating a high raw diet and started to just go mainly cooked for a week and the flue going around got me. Now I am going back on track. It still does not feel like my colds when I was not vegan. I don't get the horrible runny nose. I just got a small cough that I cough maybe 1 every 2 hours and I have to blow my nose every half hour. Besides that I feel great! So it feels odd that I get cold like symtoms but don't feel sick.
I've had 3 cooked meals (vegan veggies and grains) since being raw, and every morning after have tons of mucus. But other than those 3 episodes I haven't gotten sick once.
I had flue once or twice a year, before i went raw.
Now I am raw, and i wanted to test if I will not catch anything, so i allways went close to people who had this winter flue. Nothing happened, and i thought, ok it really works. then finally i caught it, i had fever 40 degrees one day, and couldn´t talk. The next day I was ok. I thought, wow, that was a fast detox. People around me, that eat SAD food stayed at home in bed with flue for 7 to 10 days untill they recovered - so that was really good and quick. I guess they had more to detox by this flue.
I´m vegan raw since 5 1/2 months. The flue got me 2 weeks ago, or did I got it?
Before i went raw, i allways, winter, summer, spring, autumn - all time had sinusitis, running lots of mucos through my nose, now i have really clear, wounderful breathing. Healthy paranasal sinuses like i never had. I think this will bring more oxigen to my blood, my organs, and thats why I have more energy.
I'm planning to start enemas too (I think when my roommate will leave next month...). Of course it's unnatural, but we have eaten unnatural for years and years and I believe it can help a lot getting out the waste.
I just wanted to ask, what water...
I have a full size Excalibur that I never use. What an investment huh?
