Give it to me Raw

Hi everyone,

I've just recently gone raw (90% for a week now).

I'm interested in a raw diet for all its wondrous properties, but also specifically for body fat loss.

I notice there's a lot of discussion here about 80/10/10 and low fat vegan raw lifestyles.

It seems that my inclination now is to have a quart of green smoothie for breakfast and salads with goodly amounts of oil, avocado, and nuts for lunch and dinner. When I look at the nutritional info for this diet on sites like thedailyplate, it shows me that the majority of my calories are coming from fat.

I like eating this way, I feel content and satisfied, and I'm coming in at just around my daily calorie goal (1900 - 2000) that conventional sources claim will yield about a pound of fat loss a week. I also feel like I'm eating plenty of fruits and vegetables (relative, at least, to my previous SAD diet).

Yet with so many brilliant folks here talking about low fat, I wonder if there's something I'm not understanding or missing out on. Could anyone clarify for me?

I found them very interesting and they cleared a lot of many questions that I had about nutrition and optimal health.

Hi wellwrought. I can only speak for myself. My raw diet consists of probably 80-100 grams of raw organic fats per day in the form of cashews, almonds, almond butter, flaxseed oil, coconut oil, and others. When I am raw, I become extremely toned and trim even if I do not exercise as often as I should. My muscles become very lean and defined and body fat melts away. I eat what my body requests and visually, the raw fats have seemed to prompt release of stored fats from my non-raw, high-carb backsliding times. So I believe that raw fat does help to lose weight. I think those people who are raw but still monitor their fat intake may be programmed from the "low-fat craze" of earlier years or maybe they just have a different chemical makeup than me and they are listening to their own bodies. So, I would say to try it for about a month and discover how your body looks and feels without limiting your raw fat intake. If you do or don't meet your weight loss goals, you will know your answer. If you're like me, after just that month you'll be enjoying a toned and fit physique and many fewer wobbly parts. Happy rawfooding!

my thinking is, yes good fat help to lose it! bc. it swich to good cholesterol->loosing one. However, i must say, interesting is i eat only good one and the rest residues are the bad one(so i assume in a good ration, even though i dont measure it) however i have very high the bad one(but i have hashimoto thyroid desease) however my guess is it is like with vitamins, to much externel and your body addapt, so i eat everything in normal ration and the rest i leave on the body and i cant wait to see new blood test, coz i assume on the raw, 1) body detoxify->help to maintain balance in body, and 2) the body better distinguis the food we put in coz it is unchange in natural balance complete state(that even why i preffered eat one complete amout of apple, natural olive not olive oil etc. well it not necessary, however my guess is it is better, when it is complete piece of food->best to digest.----but in this case i say it is only my guess i have no evidence!!!)

more i assume in the primary stage i go fats also so the detox is balance and dynamic not one huge speed one->headache more one i did it when i fist touch raw, but i didnt know what it the poin of it(beverlyhills diet) and even though i always eat raw i stangle of toxicity!->so my lymp was big and i feel tired, sad etc. bc. moreover i have not good lymph in general......

so i am for fat as well, why not....once better detoxify you wont eat more than your body need, coz trast me you wont crave for more, adn that is the main idea of this diet- balance of body....so why not all nutrient, it not fat that fattening, its not sugar that fattening, its not protein that fattening only amount and than toxicity and than reaction of our body to get rid of toxicity ->liver if not enought-> the body fat roll it in it self!.... and here we are why normal diet doesnt work, coz yes it is also possible this way, but it is like to go for something the worst and the most straggle way...(this way i dont explain, coz here we r rawfoodist;)

more i like to add one more thing, fat helps to maintain the GI law-> and GI law is one way how to get rid of fat and stabilise insuline. AND THIS COME TO FOOD COMBINATION, THE IMPORTANT PART AS WELL...ONCE HIGH FAT AND LOW SUGAR(LOW TO MAINTAIN LOW GI EAT FATTY AND PROTEIN FIRST AND THEN LITTLE SUGAR U CAN(UP TO 40G IN ONE MEAL IS THE BEST).(HOWEVER ONCE YOUR SUGAR IS FROM FRUIT, NO INSULINE IS NECESARY IT GOES NEARLY ALL WITHOUT IT IN TO BLOOD STREAM). BUT MY EXPERIENCE SHOW THAT EVEN HIGH BUT !!!STABLE!!! SUGAR FROM RAW(NO CRAVING AS WELL) AND IT DOESNT AFFECT THE WEIGHT LOSS COMING FROM DETOX, BUT IS POSSIBLE TO LOSE MUSSLE AS WELL, AND MUSSLE IS CONECTED TO THYROID SO U MAY CUT YOUR METABOLISM POSSIBLE INTAKE, HOWEVER WHEN ON RAW FOOD I ASSUME YOUR BODY ADDAPT TO THIS INTAKE WITHOUT CRAVING!! SO THIS IS MY GUESS....
