Just wanting to get some tips on balancing hormones, something that will continue to work and work as quick as possible. My moods are crazy at the moment!!! Any experiences shared would be greatly appreciated :)
Hi Ness, You're going to get lots of different opinions. I'm giving mine based on my experience. I don't know anything about menopause so this applies if your body is prior to that stage.
Your foods will affect your moods along with your stress levels and the amount of sleep your are obtaining.
Other than that, Yoga helps tremendously. I love the Sun Salutation, the Downward Facing Dog, the Plow, and the Dolphin positions to re-align chakras. You can look these up on the internet and a description along with instructions will should be available.
In addition, I love healing sounds, relaxation music, and meditation.
For drink, you might try Red Raspberry leaf, German Chamomile, or Lady's Mantle tea. Yams are also supposed to help women. I've seen it juiced. You could juice it raw if you have the equipment. I've heard that Black Cohosh is supposed to help but I've never had any luck with it.
One thing I do avoid is Cacao and caffeine in any form.
Thank you for sharing your experience and tips with me :) I am definitely at an age prior to menopause, so I don't need help with that yet. I do love to do yoga, just havn't been up to it lately. Juicing yams sounds interesting, I may have to look into this more.

I've had trouble with my hormones as well in terms of moods and hormonal acne. I started taking a product called EstroSense (contains hormone-balancing herbs) and it's helped a lot. I also take Chasteberry 3x day (balances estrogen) and I feel more balanced and my skin is better.
wheat grass juice..:) it takes around 3 months to notice any change when you start adding in a food or supplement,so be patient...
are you eating all raw?are you well hydrated?how much fat/fruit/greens are you eating a day,whats your calorie intake?are you exercising/deep breathing/happy/sleeping well?
going to raw foods 6 years ago,allowed my hormones to balance,and my acne to clear up....and taking the wg juice every day also pulled them into line,i am now a 28 day cycle on the dot,never ever was it was all over the shop..
i am a little low in testosterone at the moment,but taking some drops from the lady i see is setting me right :)
eat as cleanly as you can..dont overeat,and perhaps try meditation too..?
have you or are you on any kind of contraceptive pill?
Saz - My naturopath actually had me on Estrosense a few months back but I wasn't sure if that was the reason my acne had been clearing or the fact I had only been off Roaccutane for a few months (Apparently Roaccutane stays in the system for a while). If I end up taking too many tablets I few a bit weird anyway lol.
Kelly Myra - I have also tried Chaste berry and didn't notice a dramatic difference, although saying that I wasn't eating raw foods when I tried taking the vitex tablets...
Rawgreengoddess - Mmm wheatgrass juice, I would love to be taking that everyday :) I try to have as many green juices a s I can during the week. I don't eat completely raw as I am finding it too difficult, time wise.I drink about 3-4 litres of water a day. I do eat a lot of fruits, so maybe sugar is an issue? I eat avocados and some nuts pretty much everyday. I am not on the pill (have been tempted to go on it, but know it will do me no good in the long run). I have been pretty depressed lately as well and I know this is a bit contributing factor to my skin issues.

its always so much more than what we eat Ness...even though eating all raw i believe is something to strive for,i know for me,its the only way to be totally well and feel amazing and balanced...
eating a lot of fruits and higher fat can be an issue...perhaps either try lower fruits and moderate fats,or higher fruits and lower fats...what have you got to lose....but try and do it 100% raw and you will get more benefits that way...im a huge believer in greens too...and wg is amzing,for me i cant say enough good about it Ness.:)
try and eat only one fat per meal ,this avoids digestive overload...are you food combining well?sleep,exercise,happiness,sunshine,dry skin brushing,rebounding...please try and avoid going onto the pill,its a short term band aid effect...have faith you will get there Ness...:)

Hey Ness, I found my acne cleared up because of the Estrosense, and like I said, I pair it with the chasteberry. It's been the best combo I've tried thus far for balancing hormones. I have a book on balancing hormones for women and it recommends Estrosense, chasteberry, artichoke and borage oil and if you're not vegan, a fish oil.
Like RGG said, it's also important to make sure you're sleeping, eating an exercise patterns are all good as well. I always break out and feel a little crazy regardless of what I've been doing if I don't sleep, eat and exercise right.
