Give it to me Raw

Anybody know of the best raw food to knock out a cold? I was told to swallow raw garlic. Does that really work? Any other tips?

i got a cold last week. First one in a year and a half. I was doing a bunch of colonics at the time as well. Major detox I think.

ginger, lemon, honey drinks are good. Lots of juices.

Garlic definitely helps. Juice it if you can and add it to whatever juice you're drinking.

Also, elderberry extract works pretty well too.

yeah I did a good green juice with cucumber, kale, zucchini, celery, leeks, tomato, red capsicum, lemon and garlic

I'd say eat a sprouted super grain like quinoa with spices like green onion, garlic, olive oil, and cayenne. Also cabbage or oranges. Is there a reason you think you are getting a cold? Like have you been under more stress than usual?

This week, I have been under more stress, plus I did a 24 hour water fast that I broke last night PLUS a coworker was complaining about getting sick so I think she gave it to me. I just don't want to be sick for the weekend! :(

That would be ideal, but I have to work and I feel all congested :(

Capsaicin (found in chili peppers) helps clear your sinuses so make a big pot of spicy salsa and get stuck in (with a box of tissues by the side)

A blast of natural vitamin C (I love Camu Camu in a smoothie with grapefruit, oranges, and dessicated coconut), hitting the Kyolic hard (no gas or stinky garlic breath), and getting on medicinal mushroom capsules in my experience knocks out almost everything from colds to cold sores (yuck!).

One of the mysteries of raw food and the reason why I'm still raw is that I didn't have cold or flu since I became raw more than a year ago. Typically I'm very notorious for having too many cold infections throughout my life. Now , no cold and no stuffy nose. What do you eat?

I am still transitioning and my cold started after a 24 hour water fast, so I've been getting a lot of rest since and eating only raw. I think my body is just detoxing from the fast but I'm feeling much better now. I stunk up my whole office with garlic yesterday! lol

Hi Nicole, We don't need any salt at all, and in fact it's always toxic to the body. Salt is a rock, and no matter how small we smash it, it is an inorganic mineral which our bodies cannot really use. Organic sodium is needed by ever single cell ...
