Sorry I've been so inactive here. Raw food wise, I've been doing quite well. My diet could certainly use some fine tuning, but I've been surviving just fine on raw food for a year now :-). Thank you all so much for the help and information during the short while I was active here.
Today I made a blog post about some physical health problems I've had both recently, and for the past few years. If you are interested, here is the post. I can go into more detail about my diet here if need be.
In the morning I have a little less than 2/3 cup of soaked buckwheat (sometimes quinoa) with an apple or two bananas, sometimes with some raw honey too. I may have a mid-morning snack of some fruit.
Lunch has 2/3 cup of soaked seeds, usually sunflower and almond, though I'd like to have more variety. I blend the seeds with a carrot, a beet, or another root vegtable, some stevia, salt, olive or flax oil most of the time, maybe an egg, and possibly garlic, apple cider vinegar, or something else. I typically put this onto some lettuce, bok choy, or some cabbage, and maybe add celery.
Dinner is usually 2/3 cup of soaked sunflower seeds or almonds on lettuce, bok choy, or a similiar leafy green. Sometimes I mix miso with the seeds or I add a cup of water with stevia and apple cider vinegar (which is a good drink by itself) to give it some more flavor. I may add cinnamon or chili powder.
Of course, that is just my typical day; I often do various alterations beyond that. Occasionally I have raw wild salmon as my protein for lunch. I don't have anything after dinner unless I'm fairly hungry.
Drink more water. Eat less fats(nuts, seeds etc.) Cut the animal proteins out of your diet. Eat a breakfast of fruit only. Eat more fruit throughout the day. Eat big salads with no salt, no oils, no miso. Ditch the stevia. Ditch the apple cider vinegar. I'm willing to bet your health problems will disappear quite quickly.
Had a look at your pics and post, thanks for sharing. The first photo actually reminds me of 'chillblaines' (i think they're called) which i got myself when I was in extreme cold and my circulation wasn't good enough to keep me warm.
I also noticed in your 'foot' shot that you are retaining fluid, the body usually holds fluid to dilute toxins/pollution in the system.
I noticed you eat dairy and until you get that out of your diet I can't see your skin clearing up. Skin disturbances are usually an external mainfestation of an out of balance internal state. Animal fats will do you know benefits at all just make your journey harder and take away from your health.
I used to have acne on my face, shoulder and chest until I adopted a properly combined lowfat raw vegan diet (I just uploaded a video and talked briefly about it on my page). It sounds complicated but its very simple and its the easiest diet around on the body & digestion so all the energy that would usually go towards digestion can be used to heal your skin from within.
Oh i just saw your post about what you are eating...
Grains buddy they have to go! They are like chards of glass on your intestines which then manifests on your skin. Sorry not a fan of grains in any form..., does your mouth water at the site of a field of wheat?!
More fruit will squash any cravings for grains...
Vinegar & salt in any quantities is poison, refined 100% fats like oil will clog your system & pores...
Get outdoors in the sun nude and go for a good lymph-clearing jog! Lots of water too....
I understand the low feeling you must be experiencing but hey give this a try, you won't be sorry :-)))

i am no expert but it also looks like your diet is lacking in greens. try starting the day with a huge green smoothy instead of the buckwheat.
i also agree that it's really important to ditch the dairy. nut milk tastes just as good.

Hey Teran! There's some good advice here, particularly adding more greens (green smoothies?) and maybe cutting out dairy to see what happens. Some people are sensitive to it. How much water do you drink?
To contribute, the red marks on your hands and feet look like either an allergic reaction or mild excema. The cold hands and feet are indeed chilblains, which is related to poor circulation. I have the same issue with cold hands and feet, unfortunately. It's quite common, and I can't find the solution other than to wear thick socks. Otherwise my toes wouldn't be quite so purple in the winter :)
Thanks for all of the replies. I only have time for a short reply, but will take all of your responses into consideration.
I think that this article gives a good investigation of fats, but I haven't looked into this as much as I should. I last had "raw" cheese (I later found out that it used thermalized milk) three weeks ago, so it isn't very common.
My water intake is probably a little low, so I will try to drink more throughout today and see if it helps. I doubt it alone would help with my ears or red spots, but it certainly is beneficial otherwise.
Regarding salt, I think that this article is useful. I'm still not completely convinced either way, but salt licking is common amongst some animals (though humans may have no such requirement).
@RawKev:
I've had the issues with my ears for three years before going raw, but the red spots have been there for approximately 6 months, and the swelling in my hands is less than two weeks old.
@emily:
I have no gap in my front teeth, but one of my front lower teeth is crooked and behind another. While I'm not sure how far forward the tongue is supposed to rest, mine might be a bit farther than it should. I will look into the face exercise thing, thanks.
@freelea:
Do you consider all seeds and nuts to be grains? Technically nothing in my diet is a grain (including buckwheat), and I don't have wheat cravings. I've been 100% raw asside from possibly eating pastuerized almonds, but if I crave any cooked carbohydrate it would be rice, baked potato, or sweet potato. My skin is much clearer now, and I don't think the red dots are acne. How can you tell that I'm retaining water from the feet? I wouldn't except the feet to appear any different, but I'm no expert on the subject. The oils are cold pressed and organic, so I wouldn't call them 100% refined, but I will look into it. I'd rather have an avocado if I could.
@Saz:
I've actually never had a green smoothie before, but I can try to get more greens into my diet if they are at a reasonable price. Wikipedia says that Vitamin K can help with chillbains, so I will have to get some parsley. If I had to estimate how much water I've been having, I would say about 7 or 8 cups a day lately (not counting tea), which I'm pretty sure is not enough. I will look into excema, but can't think of anything that I would be allergic to (would likely have to be airborne or in contact with my skin).

Hey Teran, to have an allergic reaction the substance doesn't have to be airborne or have contact with your skin. Just consuming citrus, including tomatoes, makes me spotty, and anything with salt makes me bloat. I can't eat nuts either. I avoid them all like the plague. Negative reactions means it isn't right for your body. You might try to eliminate some foods for two weeks and see if your symptoms clear up, and do a rotation diet.
women wants to re-make them just like if they were their own babies, and yet they want them to act grown up like a "real" man father and all that stuff. doomed to fail each time
Watch all three nights online. Some great info was given, but seemed like it was all about getting people to buy more and more products. All I know is that they made a TON of money.
I irrigate my nose with salt water after almost every shift. I use a little bit of salt with my toothpaste every now and again. My silver fillings are pretty stable and I've noticed a metallic taste in my mouth whenever I use salt so I don't. Clov...
