I am going to buy my BLENDER today. I am so excited :D
I was wondering what everyone's favourite green smoothie was.
& What supplements can I add to it to make it even better for my body?
The simplest smoothie that I love is 1/4 pineapple and handful of spinach. (May add water if needed.) YUMMMM!!!!
The following is a smoothie recipe that I got rom my Naturopathic doc.
High Protein Smoothie
2 large Fuji apples, juice of
1 banana, peeled
5-6 large strawberries
1/2 cup of blueberries
¼ of a pineapple (including ¼ of the stem)
1/2 handful of almonds
1/2 handful of cashews
¼ avocado meat
2-3 pitted dates
2 handfuls of parsley or 4-5 leaves of Romaine or 2 leaves of Kale
1 TBS of coconut oil (optional)
1-2 cups of water, depending on how thick you like you smoothie
Blend away and drink up! YUMMMM!!!
Right now I'm drinking a green smoothie with banana, pear, baby spinach, cucumber, ginger, parsley, freshly squeezed carrot juice, and distilled water. UMMMMMMMMMM good.
Half a pineapple (or a whole one if it's small),
about 5 heads of baby bok choy (or a bunch of spinach or water spinach)
a knob of fresh ginger,
a sprinkle of cinnamon.
If I only have a bit of pineapple left but I want to make a bigger batch of smoothie then I chuck in a couple Fuji apples.
This is easy and always makes me happy. I'm made some pretty ho-hum smoothies lately that just taste like banana but this is never a disappointment...if you like a little "grassy" taste to your smoothie.
Gee I am surprised that you haven't had many responses. I mean Green is good!! Gotta love Green Smoothies. Have you read Victoria Boutenko's book: Green For Life? www.rawfamily.com She has some valuable info in the book., She has 23 smoothies that I rotate through. (rotating being very important). My Favourite: Strawberry Field:
2 c strawberries
2 bananas (brown spots on bananas)
1/2 bunch romaine
2 c water
Yields: 4 cups (lunch is served!! - 2c for me & 2c for my hubby)
Your dog is sooo cute! I have a dog too and two cats, and I looove them! I feed them wheatgrass and they actually choose that before regular grass wich they normally chew on in the garden.
I decided to have a 50/50 raw/cooked meal at Vita last night, having had a desire for warm meals for last couple of weeks. They had a Vegan Paella, it was amazing but it's only the second time I have had grains for a year and I had headache soon a...
It's actually surprisingly easy once you get the hang of it. No machete required. Shave off the husk at the pointed top close to the shell. Then poke the point of a knife in about 2 or 3 cm out from the centre and wiggle it about until it pierces ...
Yes, I believe two out of the four pineapples I've had the last several months have been alright with me, after having let them "ripen" for some days. The one that turned out the best was one I stored in a bag of ripening bananas. I did the same t...
I tried using a machete type thing but only managed a small slit, finally got all the juice out only to drink it in 2 seconds flat...please tell me theres an easier way
