Same here. My parents put me through 6 years of cathoic school and an entire childhood of whatever religious experiment they were experimenting with at the time and I could never bring myself to believe any of that stuff as a kid. So, when I grew up and realized that I did not have to or need to any longer I pretty much just let religion fall away completely.
I guess you can catagorize me as athiest, But im not against religion or people who practice it. (athiest seem to make a religion out of being against religion sometimes). Also, the word athiest seems to be such a dirty word for so many people I tend to stay away from it.
But I do believe in the universal laws. This is my 'religion'. We all create our own reality, whatever that may be. Whatever we believe, so it will be.
for me the word god doesnt do anything for me but is nt it just a word after all ?
I like the word`` universe`` =nature and everything that is au natural.....from energies within and around us....creating our own positive thought patterns.and love , peace and kindness
and I am believer in finding your own power within yourself.....your own Guru(:
To me God is our collective good. The truest phrase in the bible for me is "God is Love". When we practice love-love of each other, our children, the earth, even our enemies, we experience God and the power that comes with God to free us from our burdens and give us strength against our personal demons. Our collective good, our collective love is the most powerful force in the universe, and I believe the only way to true happiness.
Agnostic leaning towards random chance. On one level, I think believing in a "god," "gods," or any type of "creator" is completely and utterly insulting to the vastness of beauty, of depth, of meticulous detail on this planet and in this universe. On another, I feel this world is almost too silly not to have some jackass in the sky dropping pennies on peoples heads.
A benevolent creator who demands exaltation and worship on the 7th day of the week? And demands this in song from people who cannot sing?
Hmmm, sounds kind of creepy in a night-time Teletubby sort of way.
I seem to resonate more with everyone on here, it seems. I like the term "creator" because it is more reflective of our species as a whole. We create life. We create reality. We create art. We create bonehead situations that only humans could create.
As such, if I had my final say .... the sun is my God :-)
