Thank you Dhrumil !! #1 reason ... is .... lack of community .... created void - hmmm interesting point. For sure. Our culture does not need support eating SAD because ... the culture supports it. What ever people can do without "overt choice" is what is supported in our current culture. So .... eating junk food - support. eating SAD - supported. Drinking and smoking - supported.
So here we are. You and me. We have a mini culture here that is mutually supportive.
YES - so agreed ... non suppressive approach to the whole raw living vegan thing is sooooooo cool. I hear you.
Love the Sherpa ... very doable .. very up beat ... very .... upward spiraling for all ... thank you. Yes, create that which is for our future ... our ideal.
Dhrumil, I have been hesitant to post on GI2MR since the very beginning because I tend to take a very light hearted approach to my life, and to raw foods. And because I needed a lot of positive support (still do) to transition to raw food. I have been a lurker here throughout my entire journey, and as you know, we even discussed having the Raw Fu challenges as part of the GI2MR community when I wanted to start that effort. The "trolls" that you're talking about are why I ultimately decided to start Raw Fu outside of GI2MR. I have a very low troll tolerance. And the Raw Fu community knows that I have no problem using the ban function regularly, as as needed. :)
I am so happy to hear you addressing this on GI2MR. I'd love to be a more active member of this community. I will be more than happy to help you in any way that I can on the Sherpa Program. It's exciting. I'm ready for my audition! :)
Dhru, you are one of the major forces in my raw food journey, and if I haven't told you before, I love you. Please know that I am here lurking, and would love to have a more active voice here. We need to talk soon. I'll tweet you. I've gome some simliar ideas brewing around that might fit in niceley with the Sherpa program.
Again, I love you. And I'm here to help in any way that I can.
Dhrumil,

Guidance
To reach the peak one needs to be prepared, well equiped, and versatile yet determined.
As long as we are clear as to where we want to be, which peak we wish to ascend to,
then the journey will be easy for everyone - sherpas, peeps and trolls.
Lets not throw out the trolls, cant we help transform them??

Spoken from the heart :) Thank you. I really love "give it to me raw" and would like it to remain a safe and supportive space to visit. Is't not easy to take action in a situation like this, so I really respect what you are doing.
With much love and support

Personally I've distanced myself from the Raw Food community because of this, even though I wholeheartedly feel this way of eating is highly beneficial to one's health...body, mind and soul. However, I felt there was a type of fascists energy going around or a Raw Food fundamentalism...that, in the end, didn't vibe with me.
Beyond diet. Beyond anything, living in a open hearted manner comes first, and this speaks to me. I wasn't sure what the vision of the community was to be honest. Now I know. Feels good. Sounds great.
Thanks again for all the work you do. Very inspiring.

Beautiful brother, thankyou for your words - you are plugged into source and you emanate a deep integrty that people feel. Blessings in support of all your awareness. Om Shanti.
Thank you so much for this wonderful idea. I am excited to see how this all plays out. In the part of the country I am in there are very few people living raw. No such luck with pot lucks and virtually no support system so this site and others on the internet have been my primary education and support on living raw. This community has been such a blessing to me and my family because of all the wonderful people we have been able to learn from and share experiences with. I was for a long time a constant on this site, I could not go a day without checking in multiple times so not to miss an important topic of discussion. Over time I have noticed the supportive atmosphere get darkened by a few seemingly troublemakers attempting to provoke and discourage people than contributing in a positive way. Unfortunately, this has somewhat turned me off because I came here to grow and learn so I can succeed in improving my self, my health and my family's. I still check in and read as much as possible but noticed that I have been less eager to voice any opinions or ask questions in fear of being mocked or ridiculed. Lack of positive support has defiantly made it hard to continue on this journey during times when my motivation is struggling because of family, finances or availability. I am looking forward to the future of this community so I may continue to grow, learn, share and hopefully pass the knowledge I have learned to my children hoping that healthful choices will come natural to them.
Hi Dhrumil. We're just waking up here in Brazil. Thanks for sending me this video. Although I haven't signed on for a few months, the section of your video on Sherpas was exactly the reason I've been struggling. I've been from 100% raw to probably about 25%¨now. The main reason was that it just became too hard without the active support of everyone around me. Although my family seems to be much healthier and happier with even being 25% raw than they were before I started on raw at all. So I'm looking forward to this development with interest.
Secondly, Trolls. My Brother, I too have been surprised by the strength of feeling of some of the responses, but you can't call our brothers and sisters, our aunts and uncles, next door neighbors, fellow school pupils or work colleagues, Trolls. Trolls are a fantasy product of the fear of our fore-fathers. But our fore-fathers in their less fearful moments also wrote the great classics of spritual literature, the Bible, the Vedas, the Qur’ān, the Zohar and the many others recommended on the discussion "Favorite Spiritual Books?". Our 'Trolls' are just the shadows of our greater selves distorted as if by a circus mirror by the shifting sands of our emotions.
On Stewardship, I love the personal way you own this site. On no other site have I experienced this level of personal involovement, love and care by a founder. You just don't see it. And I feel that contributes to the feeling of anonymity and alienation you get from the big sites. Have you ever tried to phone eBay? So please keep it up. It makes this site what it is.
And finally, please also continue to encourage independent thinking. Few of us have come to the raw movement without encountering many emotional demons on the way. We have tried many solutions dispell our demons some of which have worked and the majority of which have not. We need critical thought as well as balm. I would be saddened if, by trimming the claws of your tiger, you just got a lame fireside cat, rather than the great beast your animal has the capacity to be.
