Hey, I was wondering if someone could help clarify this.
So here is the story I thought I might have candida so I stopped eating sugar and I was feeling ok. My symptoms got a bit better on this program but then I started going for cooked carb food *corn bread*. And I wasn't feeling any worse, then on the no sugar program. So i started adding some oranges. I was still fine. But then I ate some non- raw vegan cookies...followed by fruit and now i feel like hell. Foggy, Over heated, soar eyes. What's that about?
When I first came to this site I was hearing a lot about bad food combining. No fat and fruit ect. But now there is all this talk about eating fat to slow sugar absorption so on and so forth. Any advice. I understand the school of thought to trust your own body but I find myself inconsistence.
Same w/ me Raw'r. I can have a bit of bubble gum or a mint and feel fine, but some grapes will send me over the cliff headfirst into the abyss. I think I burned out my pancreas or something... wore out my fruit welcome.

well, once quick tip is fruit needs to digest in the lower intestine, so if there is already anything in the stomach. crap or no crap, it is likely going to ferment, and will be disastrous if you are already predisposed due to the candida. complex or dense cooked foods tend to take much longer to digest of course, which fruit or no fruit can also be problem for the candida also.
carbs ARE sugars. there are two totally different approaches to candida, so I'm not going to comment on that. but if you are already trying to do low sugar I would limit ANY cooked stuff to very simple starches like quinoa or sweet potato eaten with BIG salads, do greens/juices and perhaps other methods of your choosing/research
you can slow fruit sugar with raw fats (plants or otherwise) and/or greens that combine well with fruits. but does slowing down give you an advantage when going through a nasty neighboorhood? I would fix the problem first, or perhaps you don't even have a problem you are just combining poorly. stick to simple combinations for a bit or get tested officially.
if you do have overgrowth of fungus and are transitioning..you can forget about trusting your body for now (on this issue specifically anyway). just my opinion.
Something people haven't mentioned is the phenomenon of cutting something out then adding it back in and you feel BETTER temporarily- so you get hooked again. Look at an alcoholic. They feel like crap then they start feeling better, then they go out and drink and feel GREAT! (then they feel like crap again when they aren't drinking)
I think most people can go without sugar for a few days no problem- but give yourself 2 weeks of no sugar including no root vegetables, no agave, no dates, no carrots and no grains- basically phase 1 and see how you are.
When you cut sugar out how long did you go and how strict were you??
I don 't think that fruit is bad- but if you are having foggy thinking it is mostly two things- candida and or blood sugar issues. If you can ween yourself from sugar and start the day with a decent amount of calories and protein then your blood sugar should have a chance to stabilize. After a couple of weeks of this you should have killed any over growth of candida. Make sure you are taking probiotics to build the right kind of flora up and maintain it while you are eating fruit. MSM is god to kill candida too.
A green soup with avo, hemp and lots of green is filling. Flax crackers are also very high in protein. If you really need a fruity fix go for coconut, berries, green papaya or mango chutney, or green apples. They are ok on phase 1.
i had some almond butter about 4 hours before bed and woke up 4 hours later thinking i had like e.coli ...my stomach was throbbing. I never felt worse but i never threw up.
i feel best when i eat absolutely nothing, but that isn't realistic.
so lost.
I disagree with your definition of spirituality. I personally define spirituality as simple awareness, both of yourself in your actions and to your surroundings, as well the connection you may feel to all living things. No belief in something happ...
YES YES YES! Thank you so much for this. I have been procrastinating BIG TIME. You have served as the motivation I needed to clear this crazy clutter I live in once and for all! You're wonderful =]
That's hilareous. My husband looks at the sun to make himself sneeze. There's some weird phenomena that 10% of the population has that looking at the sun makes them sneeze.
