I don't know exercises- except swimming and hot tubing. Gaba can help and eating\juicing 1-3 cucumbers a day can really help..

Really? Eating 1-3 cucumbers a day. How is that? Is it the water content?

The skin contains silica- There is an enzyme in there that breaks down calcium depoits and is anti inflammatory.

Thanks for this...we will try this as well. We are just trying to avoid the pharmaceuticals as it is only a temporary fix.

msm is good, very good joint support, and not present in our food.

On a different level, back pain represents a feeling/thought pattern of not being supported, lower back specifically financial worries, and fear of dying/ageing.

Yoga, or just stretching and touching your toes, or however far down u can go and holding it whilst u breathe, and going a bit further on the exhale, when done a couple of times a day helps long term. You can do this standing or sitting, if sitting u can use a strap to help u stretch, it can feel so good!

Massage, u can do it a bit on yourself, but is always better when someone else gives the back and hips a good old knead. I like to go to Chinatown and get a Chinese massage, its really inexpensive and extremely thorough, much better than aromatherapy, swedish or other types i've had. I trained in massage and am very particular, I only let the Chinese and Thai masseuse's loose on my body now.
Also a good chiropractor or oesteopath can be an absolute godsend - Instant relief.
I know u said u wanted advice for self therapy, but seeing as the back relates to a feeling of lack of support, having someone else support you in a theraputic way with bodywork could kill 2 birds with one stone ;)
Hope u manange to get to the 'bottom' of it ;) hehehe

Thanks for the suggestions Zoe. Emotions do play a role in physical pain....and the massage does help eliminate the muscle tension.

How are you by the way? U in the UK?

Would soaking them help? I've read that nuts in general has alot of anti-nutrients & soaking is always suggested.

Hi, Sorry to disappoint u, but you should never eat raw chestnuts. They're poisonous! They contain tannin a toxic substance. I used to let my dog play around with them until I learned about the tannin. It's highly toxic for animals (they can die f...

lol yes in many cases. Eating raw fruits and vegetables doesn't make someone more spiritual. If that were case, we could just eat our way to enlightenment. Many animals eat raw fruits and vegetables and still live at a gross level of ignorance an...

I've been juicing for about 40 hours. It feels so amazing, I can't believe how much my body has healed. The last time I did it was a few weeks ago.
